Fire and Ice

Bodhi and Garrick felt the fire and the venin spun. Bodhi's eyes widen as he looked at Zara. Fire surrounded her. The fire seemed to dance around her. Adish was right behind her, guarding her back.

"Zara." Garrick whispered. The Venin started approaching.

Zara didn't know how she was doing it but she used her ice power to cool her body as the fire about danced around her. Her eyes were on the venin. She moved her hand and it obeyed. Zara grabbed the dagger on her thigh that killed venin. Zara moved her hand the fire attacked. The venin yelled. Lily ran towards the venin. The fire moved with her. Zara dived out of the venin attack. Garrick and Bodhi had been secretly training her to fight a venin if needed. Zara grabbed the arm as it reached for her and it screamed in pain as the fire burned it.

"Princess of Navarre. Your as beautiful as they say you are." The Venin hissed. Zara glared at it.

"Go to hell." Zara plunged the dagger into its chest. The Venin fell to the ground dead. The fire was raging around her.

'Shields up.' Adish called. Zara brought the shields up with her signet and the fire went out. Zara felt her legs giving out and strong arms catch her.

"I got you, Sassy." Garrick said. Zara looked up into Garrick's face. A cut ran down his face across his eyes.

"Garrick?" Zara asked.

"I'm fine." Garrick said. Zara ran over to Bodhi. A dragon scream filled the air. Cuir and Chradh land on the ground and Adish moved closer as they surround their riders.

"Damn, Z. I didn't know you could do that." Bodhi said.

"I didn't till I saw you two hurt." Zara said. Garrick stood watching the sky. Bodhi was cradling his arm. Zara put her hand on it and he flinched.

"It's fractured." Zara grabbed her bag where she kept her medical supplies. Another dragon scream came. Zara looked up.

"What's going on?" Bodhi said.

"I don't know. It isn't a wyvern." Garrick said. Zara began putting Bodhi's arm in a wrap and then sling.

'Deigh is dead.' Adish said. Bodhi and Zara look up. Garrick swore. With Deigh dead it meant that Liam was going to die as well. Booms came and wyvern were falling from the sky.

"Are those the ones that the venin controlled when I killed it?" Zara said as she helped Bodhi stand up.

"I think so. There's a way to kill them." Garrick said. Zara heard a screech and turned. More and More wyvern were heading there way. A wall of shadow came up.

"It's not over." Zara whispered. A wyvern dives for them and Garrick grabbed Zara as Adish and Cuir put their wings over the three riders. Snapping of teeth come and a screech. The wings move and Zara sees the wyvern moving away.

'We are targets on the ground.' Adish said.

"And Xaden needs help." Garrick said.

"Then let's help out." Zara said. Garrick kisses her check. Bodhi kisses her other check. Zara quickly climbs Adish's foreleg. Adish, Cuir, and Chradh launch in the air. Zara pulled down her goggles as Chradh got ahead of Adish and Chradh, flying low.

Zara's eyes widen as a venin with a staff as tall as him strides out of the darkness. His gaze locked on Xaden.

"Fuck." Zara said. Tairn approaching from the other way as Sgaeyl spins and blasts fire at the venin, but he doesn't pause. Garrick leans from his seat and flings a dagger at the venin. The robed figure slams his staff into the ground and disappears before the dagger hits him. "What the?"
