Dontrell's POV:
I should've known he was too good to true, I should've have trusted my gut and never given him a chance.
I really thought things would be different with him but I guess I was wrong.
Jackson has been distant since the whole shooting thing with Jamir, he hardly comes home, doesn't pick up when I call.
I don't want to think he's cheating but the thought has crossed my mind a few times.
When he's home he hardly says a thing to me.
Like right now he's just staring at TV playing his stupid game.
"You good." I said, trying to start a conversation.
"Mhmm." He hummed not once looking over at me.
"Care to share because whatever is on that phone must be quite important since you haven't taken eyes off it."
He didn't say anything just kept typing on his phone, he puts the phone down and looks up at me.
He jaw ticked, "What are you getting at Trell."
"You've been distant."
He darkly chuckled, "let me guess you think I'm cheating" I don't answer because what would have him act how he's acting how he's been acting.
"Are you fucking serious right now!" He yelled.
As a heart attack.
"What do you want me to think when you are never home and when you are here you hardly pay me any attention." I said
"The world doesn't revolve around you, I have things going on too but Nah you have to make things about you."
"What things, I'm your partner you should be able to talk to me about whatever's going on with you."
I'm not going to allow another man to make a fool out of me.
"Have you ever held a man down and listened to the sound of his bones breaking under a chainsaw while he screamed and begged for his life." He asked.
I'm taken aback by his question, what is talking about better yet what did he do.
"No." I said looking away from his soulless eyes.
How had I not noticed that he was hurting.
"Thought so, if you don't mind I would like to play my game and not have to talk about shit I know you wouldn't be able to handle."
I nodded.
I have to talk to Lamar.
I walked away to the bathroom with my phone in hand.
After a couple of rings the call connected.
"Hello." Lamar's voice sounded through the phone.
"Can we talk." I asked.
"I'm kinda of busy right now but I guess we can if you make it quick." He said, from his tone he sounded annoyed.
There used to time where he wouldn't want me off the phone when I called him.
Damn times really have changed.
"What happened when you and Jackson came back from the lake house." I asked.
He let out a heavy sigh on the other side of the line, "Nothing." He unconvincingly said.
"Lamer, I might not know what really happened but I know something happened, so please tell me the truth."
I hated how I sounded like the Trell that used to beg him to stay or to tell me he loved me.
