"Jungkook," Dr. Yoo spoke as he entered the room, causing the intern to jump slightly. "When you're finished with your examination, start Taehyung on twenty rounds of hip abductions and move to bridges. When he's begun, please come talk to me," he said before he made his way to Jonah, the patient he had helped the longest.
"Have you done many hip abductions before?" he asked after clearing his throat, his hands unintentionally squeezing his backside and eliciting a gasp from the patient. Jungkook's hands pulled off of his body quickly, taking a deep breath as Taehyung tapped the bench once. "Do you do them lying down?" Jungkook asked, nudging Taehyung so he was on his back, nodding at the patient when he tapped once. "Ever on your feet?" he asked before receiving another singular tap. "We'll start lying down, but I'm going to feel your pelvis and hips from the front, okay?" he continued, a soft smile when he saw the patient shift to lay more comfortably.
Willing his inappropriate thoughts from his mind – something that was nearly impossible at this point to do – he placed his hands gently on the front of Taehyung's body, just below his navel. Feeling the front of his pelvis, his palms moved to grasp his hips, the patient jolting slightly at the touch. "Did I hurt you?" Jungkook asked, alarmed as he looked at him, surprised to see the patient's eyes on him. Why is he such a dream? He wondered with almost frustrating intensity.
Taehyung shook his head, a rushed exhale from his barely parted lips, dark wavy hair fanned out against the treatment table.
"Great," Jungkook replied, a smile at the step up in cues Taehyung displayed. He continued to move his hands, feeling the bones and muscles of his hips and thighs, humming to himself as he finished the examination. "Have your hips been uneven since the injury?" he asked, watching Taehyung nod. "Has it greatly affected your gait comfort?" Taehyung shook his head.
"Are you asking about the unevenness in his pelvis?" the doctor called over, nodding as Jungkook replied affirmatively. "When he does lateral pelvic tilts it evens out. If he doesn't exercise properly for a while his right hip gets high again."
"We'll do some of those, too, then," Jungkook said with a smile, looking at Taehyung fondly. Taehyung gave him the smallest smile back, Jungkook practically fainting at the sheer beauty of the tiny gesture. He stopped breathing, just admiring the man beneath him while keeping his gaze for the longest time yet. When Taehyung looked away, Jungkook cleared his throat, sniffing. "I'm going to do some manual therapy first, then we can get you started on the tilts and abductors, we'll end it with bridges and a nice massage, how's that?"
Taehyung gave a nod, eyes averted as he again avoided his gaze, silent and unmoving while Jungkook manipulated his joints and gently stretched his muscles. Once he had given him the instructions for beginning his reps, making sure he had the right form, he walked to the doctor and leaned against the wall beside him, Jonah being escorted out after his session.
"How does he seem to you?" Dr. Yoo asked quietly, slathering his hands in disinfectant before rubbing them together. "Does he seem to be especially moody or agitated?"
"Not at all," Jungkook dismissed. "His mood seems elevated, actually, and he's been very responsive."
The doctor looked at him curiously, humming as he wiped his hands dry. "Is that so? You seem quite responsive with him, as well."
Pausing, a mortified feeling sweeping into his gut, Jungkook looked at the man with wide eyes. "What do you mean?"
"You two work well together," Dr. Yoo began, raising an eyebrow at the resident. "But watch your hands and don't let your mind wander."
