"Dr. Jang? Do you have a minute?" Jungkook asked the woman, whose office door was open.
"Ah, Mr. Jeon, I haven't formally met you yet," the woman replied, standing up and shaking his hand. "What can I help you with?"
"It's about Taehyung."
"I heard he had a sort of outburst earlier. He didn't harm you, right?" she asked with a frown.
"No, not at all, but I'm just worried about how he's doing, his progress. He refuses to talk to me and that worries me, because we communicate really well."
"Without violating his rights to privacy, I will tell you that we're trying different medications right now, and it might take a little while to find the right fit for him. I've been working with him three days a week now, and my LPC has been talking to him daily, sometimes more than once. Taehyung doesn't speak with us, but we're told that's not unusual. If it makes you feel better, I can promise that we're doing all we can to find the best match for him with therapy and medication."
"I appreciate everything you do, doctor. I've been away the last week so coming back to him like this has been quite a shock," he admitted.
"Well, I hope you're able to talk with him effectively soon," the doctor answered with a smile. "The fact that he's eager about getting better makes the process much easier, but finding the right balance of chemicals can sometimes be complicated."
"I understand," Jungkook spoke, bowing once. "I have to get going, but thank you for your time!"
He walked away from her office, sighing as his heart felt like it was being squeezed. It's not going to help anything if I start panicking, he thought to himself, shaking his arms as if he could physically brush the stress away. Get to work and get your mind busy!
It was three more days before the couple interacted again. When Jungkook saw Taehyung sitting on the treatment bench, waiting for physiotherapy, he couldn't stop his heart from pounding faster. The man was sitting, staring at his feet as they lightly kicked, only looking up when Jungkook approached him.
"Good afternoon, Taehyung," he greeted him, melting at the sight of his big, soulful eyes. "How are you doing today?"
Taehyung nodded, shrugging a shoulder as he looked at him.
"That's alright," he continued gently, gesturing. "Please lie on your belly for me."
Doing as he was told, Taehyung laid down, shifting onto his front as his arms lay at his sides. Jungkook frowned, now that the other couldn't see him, and reminded himself to be patient. Taehyung was healing, and this was a process. He wanted to be beside him through everything, and this wasn't going to be any different. Beginning his assessment, he started feeling the man's back, cringing at the tightness that built at his waist, pelvis rotated too forward and the bottom section of his obliques tense.
"Does it hurt?" he asked, wanting to sigh in relief when Taehyung hit the table twice. "Alright. I'm still going to do a release before you start your abductors and adductors, okay? After a couple reps of those I'll have you do bridges and then I'll finish with a massage."
Taehyung nodded, allowing Jungkook to begin moving his body around, positioning it properly to perform the release he needed.
After Taehyung had started his reps, and Jungkook double checked his form, he joined Dr. Yoo at his side, observing the work he was doing with Jonah.
"Everything alright?" Dr. Yoo asked, looking at Jungkook.
"It seems so. Hopefully it'll stay alright or continue being alright," he replied, looking over at Taehyung, who was staring at the ceiling as he breathed deeply, beginning another round of exercises. "I'm hoping he'll speak to me sometime today."
