Before deciding to go after him, Jungkook walked into the next room, an awkwardness to his stance. "Dr. Yoo, I finished with Taehyung," he started, the doctor looking at him with a raised eyebrow.
"Why do you look so uncomfortable? What happened?"
"It's private."
The doctor nodded, helping his patient out of the pool and handing them their towel, gesturing for one of the nurses to dry and dress him. "Come."
Jungkook followed the doctor through the halls and into his office, sitting down heavily. The doctor rounded his desk, following suit to sit in his office chair.
"Taehyung got an erection," Jungkook blurted, eyes wide and unblinking as he stared at the doctor. "And he was so embarrassed and I didn't know how to calm him down but I told him it was okay and I don't know, I might have made him even more embarrassed because he left the room quickly and he was bright red. I don't know what to do or what I could have done better," he explained, eyebrows pinched together.
The doctor was quiet for a moment before laughter erupted from his throat, building up from his chest. "Jungkook, I don't think you could have done any better," he joked, laughter finally slowing as he noticed the resident wasn't joining in. "It's no big deal, Jungkook. You're in the business of touching bodies, things like that are bound to happen sometimes."
"So it's happened with you before, with your patients?" Jungkook mumbled, looking for some sort of relief or understanding.
"Never."
"What!? But you said it happens!"
"And I'm sure it does," the doctor explained, using a hand to gesture for Jungkook to calm down. "Look, you're a handsome man and you were massaging him places that are or are close to erogenous zones. I'm sure this sort of thing happens with a lot of patients who would be in that position. If it bothers you that much, you don't have to work in PT with Taehyung anymore, even though I promise it's not a big deal. But in my professional opinion, you should also get used to bodily functions from patients, because trust me, an erection is better than some alternatives."
Jungkook didn't want to ask.

A few hours later Jungkook went to lunch, sitting with another coworker as Soojung had the day off.
"What do you think of the place so far?" the woman, Sohee, asked as she put a forkful of salad in her mouth. "How long have you been here now?"
"It's mostly enjoyable," Jungkook began, taking a bite of his noodles. "I feel uneasy about some of the staff but I love the work I do and some of the patients are incredible," he added with a smile. "I've been here about three weeks. How long have you been here?"
"I've been here about seven months," the woman replied. "Working mostly with bedridden patients and those with traumatic brain injuries. One of the female patients I have is paralyzed from the neck down but her mind is lightning fast. Another patient, a young man, had his lower legs and one arm amputated but he will whoop you playing cards. One of the youngest patients I see, a twelve year old girl named Jiyeon, has all of her physical capabilities about her, but her brain injury causes her moods to run rampant and she suffers from seizures and aphasia. I guess before me there was another primary doctor who saw to these patients and was, for whatever reason, annoyed with her. I can't understand it. Patients require patience."
"It's frustrating, right?" Jungkook agreed with enthusiasm, leaning closer to the woman over the table. "Seeing or hearing the way some so-called professionals view and even act towards their patients. It makes me so angry as a provider but so sad as a human. These people, they're just people. Like you and me. They just need help and that should be why people get into this kind of work."
