"Have a great day sir." Tyler said as he handed the final customer their order.

The Weathervane was right at closing time and no one was there but Tyler and his supervisor. When the customer exited Tyler began to start turning off machines and cleaning the counters.

"Ay Tyler, before you lock up, take out the garbage... don't want any smells for the early bird customers."
Luke the manager of the weathervane demanded to Tyler.

"Anything else you need me to do sir?"

"Don't call me sir and nah, just lock the place up and be safe getting outta here man, that school for outcasts isn't too far..."

Luke stopped and looked up at the sky.

"And there's a full moon."

Tyler rolled his eyes a bit. "Look sir with all due respect the kids and staff at Nevermore are just simply trying to get by."

"Listen man, you underestimate one and you become lunch."

"I think I'll be fine, have a good night Luke."

"Call me sir... jk see ya Ty!"

TYLER'S POV

I used to be just like Luke... ignorant in thinking that because someone is different that they can't be brilliant. I mean that principal lady, Xavier, Wednesday...

Wednesday... it really sucks being in love knowing you don't stand a chance in this lifetime or the next. I still think about kissing her all the time, wondering where I could be right now if I didn't have this monster in me.

*ping*

My phone pinging sent me out of my train of thought. I picked it up and quickly went to the message.

"Don't forget to take out that trash... thx bro." -Luke

I looked over at the trash and chucked to myself. It's honestly a great representation of where I am in life. I'm going on my 30s and I'm working at a fucking cafe.

At this point in my life I never had a planned future and if my dad didn't help to have me released I still wouldn't have one. That's irrelevant though I need to get the hell outta here and stop overthinking life.

I approached the repulsive black trash bag and lifted it off the ground headed for the back door. I swiftly opened it and headed towards the dumpster. I opened and threw the garbage in. As I was about to head back my phone began to rang, the number was unknown. I hesitantly put the phone to my ear.

"Hello?" I said skeptically

"Hello Tyler or should I say killer?" The voice on the line sounded distorted and clearly altered.

"Who is this?" I asked immediately starting to scan the area.

"Who knows... I could be a random prankster, a citizen of the town, or simply a prisoner of the monster you created."

"Listen I don't know who this is, but that wasn't me... I wasn't in control."

The line remained silent.

"If I ever hurt you or your loved one, I'm sorry but please leave me alone."

"Apology not accepted." The line then immediately disconnected.
