this story is heavily inspired by andré aciman's novel, "call me by your name". honestly, call me by your name has continued to redefine what it means to write with tenderness and longing for me, also giving me an entirely different outlook on love and life itself. his prose isn't just beautiful—it's alive, visceral, and utterly haunting. i can only hope to capture even a fraction of his brilliance in my own work. should you stumble upon direct quotes or passages that feel undeniably familiar, know that they are his, and that this story exists as a humble tribute to the artistry he so effortlessly wields.

if you haven't yet read his novel, or watched luca guadagnino's film adaptation, i strongly urge you to do so. immerse yourself in their world first, let it mark you the way that it had marked me. then, come back here, and this story may glimmer in an entirely new light, revealing hidden meanings tucked away beneath its surface, buried in the spaces between words and its metaphors.

i also find myself constantly explaining and informing others that the age gap in call me by your name is exactly the plot of their love story. oliver is 24, and elio is 17, it's meant to feel unsettling. the story is told through elio's eyes and in his unfiltered perception, you'll be able to see his romanticized way of yearning. from his point of view, oliver's love feels real, absolute, and completely normal. but that's the thing about being young and in love—it makes you blind, makes you see only what you want to see even when you lay out all of the bad traits, you still feel so gravitated towards them. that's the tragedy of their story, the heartbreak of being taken advantage of and not realizing it until it's too late. they didn't have a happy ending, nor were they ever meant to.

and that's exactly how my story between julia and billie went.

again, thank you, endlessly, for joining me on this intimate and intricate journey. it's no small thing to trust someone with your time, your thoughts, and your heart—especially in a story. your comments, your votes, and your love means so much more to me than i can ever express. this work is for you, because of you.

here's to art, to longing, and to the exquisite ache of being seen. i hope to see you all in my future endeavors and upcoming stories. thank you all again, i am forever grateful.

and lastly,

"thank you for existing."

xo
