Rodan is a kaiju that first appeared in the 1956 Toho film of the same name. He is a colossal pterosaur who originally dwelt underground and was mutated from exposure to radiation. After the residents of a small mining village discovered the eggs of Meganulon, a type of large prehistoric insect, the eggs hatched, releasing the creatures. Rodan, who was their natural predator, appeared soon after from its eons-long slumber. A second Rodan appeared as well, however it was killed by the Japanese Self-Defense Forces. Rodan would later go on to encounter Godzilla on a few occasions as either enemy or ally and lived on Monsterland with the rest of Earth's kaiju.

Tier: Low 4-C

Classification: Irradiated Pteranodon

Powers and Abilities: Superhuman physical characteristics, longevity, large size (Type 1; 50 meters), flight, breath attack/air manipulation (In the character's debut film, the Rodans can fire a blast of radioactive wind from their mouths, which is capable of destroying objects in its path), radiation manipulation, enhanced senses, camouflage, natural weaponry (beak), absorption (Can absorb the life force of living things to rejuvenate himself, energy, as well as radiation)|All previous abilities plus underwater breathing (Type 2; Rodan is capable of surviving when submerged underwater, as well as swimming short distances), space survival (Rodan battled King Ghidorah in Outer Space), resistance to durability negation/gravity manipulation (Survived point-blank shots from King Ghidorah's Gravity Beams, that can destroy the gravity of an opponent by breaking them apart, likely on a Subatomic level since physics and gravity work on that level), radiation, extreme heat, fire, and cold

Attack Potency: Small Star level+ (Can cause this much damage just by flying. On par with Godzilla, fought with BoS first generation King Ghidorah, who outscales the Garoga Nukes)

Speed: Subsonic+ travel speed on land with Massively FTL attack speed, combat speed, flight speed, and reactions (Scaling from Godzilla)

Lifting Strength: Class E (Scaling from Godzilla)

Striking Strength: Small Star level+

Durability: Small Star level+

Stamina: Superhuman (Has shown to be able to run and fight for long periods)

Range: Tens of Meters by virtue of his sheer size, Hundreds of Meters with Wind Breath

Standard Equipment: Beak and claws

Intelligence: Average (According to the translation of the monster's conversation by the Shobijin, Rodan agrees with Godzilla's sentiment that he only hates humans because they hate him. Rodan claims he has no obligation to protect human beings and perfers to continue his pointless fight with Godzilla)

Weakness: None notable

Notable Attacks and Techniques:

•Supersonic Flight: Rodan can fly at a high speed of Mach 1.5, allowing him to cover large distances quickly in the air and easily evade and catch enemy aircrafts.

•Shockwaves: Rodan produces destructive shockwaves while flying, which can destroy anything below him, such as bridges and buildings.

•Wind Gusts: While on the ground or hovering in the air, Rodan can produce gusts of hurricane force winds by flapping his wings repeatedly. These wings are capable of destroying buildings and blowing away vehicles. These winds will also produce a cloud of debris around Rodan, making it harder for Rodan's enemies to hit him.

•Wind Breath: In the character's debut film, the Rodans can fire a blast of radioactive wind from their mouths, which is capable of destroying objects in its path.

•Aquatic Capabilities: Rodan is capable of surviving when submerged underwater, as well as swimming short distances. This is first demonstrated in his debut film when he dives into a river, then flies out of the water after a short distance ahead. Rodan also survies after falling into the ocean at the end of Invasion of Astro-Monster, where he remains submerged underwater for a considerable length of time. In Destroy All Monsters, Rodan is shown diving into the water to catch food.
