Pyramid Head, or the Red Pyramid Thing, is one of Silent Hill's most infamous monsters, clad in similar robes to those who once worked as its executioners, bearing a particular resemblance to Valtiel. It first appears in Silent Hill in response to James Sunderland's arrival and search for Mary, his late wife, manifesting as an embodiment of his guilt he felt over murdering her, and his desire to be punished for his sins. Though it often appears as a singular monster, there are in reality multiple Pyramid Heads.

Tier: At least 9-C, likely higher

Classification: Monster, Embodiment of guilt

Powers and Abilities: Superhuman physical characteristics, longevity, weapon mastery (With the Great Knife and Great Spear), enhanced senses (Can see despite not having visible eyes and seemingly scans for James Sunderland. Monsters are strongly attracted to light, sound, and blood, though some monsters are repelled by bright lights), perception manipulation (Can appear differently to all who perceive it), body control (Can extend a large tongue like appendage), insect manipulation (Can control hordes of insects like Creepers to attack its victims), possession (Can make others into Pyramid Heads by putting on one of its helmets), limited technology manipulation, self-sustenance (Types 2 & 3), immorality (Types 1,2 and 8; It only died when James accepted his sins and grew past his need for punishment), possibly duplication (James faced two in his final confrontation with them, though they could've just been produced separately)

Attack Potency: At least Street level, likely higher (A single slash of the Great Knife, which is as tall as Pyramid Head and so heavy that it must drag it around, can destroy a fence by sending James through it, casually bisect humans and smash through metal doors. Stronger than other monsters, who are strong enough to shatter glass with relative ease, survived point-blank shotgun blasts, and rip humans apart with ease)

Speed: Athletic Human (When armed with the Great Spear, it can chase down James and Maria), Below Average Human when wielding the Great Knife (Can only slowly drag the blade)

Lifting Strength: Peak Human (Can lift and swing the Great Knife with one hand as well as support the combined weight of the blade and a human being with one hand)

Striking Strength: At least Street level, likely higher (Can easily overpower James and kill him with a single, heavy strike from the Great Knife)

Durability: At least Street level, likely higher (Has withstood sustained gunfire without issue, powering through even extended volleys)

Stamina: Superhuman (Even being repeatedly shot and injured does nothing to dissuade Pyramid Head. Can chase and fight the protagonists for long periods of time before retreating. Carries the Great Knife everywhere without signs of tiring)

Range: Extended Melee Range with the Great Knife and Great Spear

Standard Equipment: Great Knife, Great Spear

Intelligence: Unknown. Pyramid Head is seemingly animalistic and monsterous in its mannerisms and motivations, doing little than brutally murdering anything that gets in its way.

Weakness: Monsters can be deterred with runes drawn in blood. Heavy rain causes monsters to roam the streets in greater numbers. The Great Knife's weight makes it an unwieldy weapon that slows Pyramid Head down, though this is not the case in Book of Memories. If the person whose emotions it is connected to accepts their crimes and overcomes their desire to be punished, Pyramid Head will eventually kill itself. Monsters are strongly attracted to light, sound, and blood.
