"Marc! MARCO!" Anthony yelled as his brother quickly walked into his fathers facility. Even though Lou was walking, he still needed assistance with things.
"He— Marco you need a pass." The receptionist yelled only getting a hand wave from him. Anthony stopped and grabbed their passes then hurried to find Marco.
Bursting into his father's room, the nurse that was busy flirting instead of doing her job jumped. "Get out." Marco told her and she didn't hesitate to comply.
Lou looked up at his son confused. "Hell is wrong with you?"
"For years, I've come to you and asked where the fuck Kyle was. Every single time you'd look in my face and tell me that you didn't know, that his mama didn't want him around. When the truth is, it was you!"
Exhaling, Lou pinched the bridge of his nose. "Let me explain."
"It ain't shit to explain. You didn't want him to be a drug dealer like the rest of so you told Paula to keep him away but now the nigga a pig and he tryna lock me the fuck up."
"What?"
"He came into my shop, pretending to be strung out on drugs. I'm beating myself up, feeling guilty because I thought I failed my brother and that's not even the case. I go visit Paula to see if she can help me and she's confused. His fucking graduation picture from the academy sat proudly on her fireplace."
"We just wanna know why you lied man?" Anthony asked. "You knew we wanted him around. Nobody was going to put a gun to his head and force the nigga to sell crack. And it does hurt that you were okay with introducing me and Marc to this shit, basically told us this was the way to live but he was too good."
"I—I'm sorry."
"Man I ain't tryna hear that shit." Marco said.
"Nigga chill." Anthony said.
"No, fuck that. All this time he knew where Kyle was, he knew that the motherfucka was a cop."
"But I never thought that he'd come after you!" Lou yelled.
"When he asks you about us, what you say?"
"He would ask to see you guys and I would just tell him that you were all busy. Sometimes I feel like I failed all of you. I knew the power I had, I knew the money I touched and I felt like that's how my sons should be. Yall introduced Ralph to shit, I didn't want this life for him either."
Anthony shook his head. "You got me feeling like I'm a bad person or some shit. Got me thinking you felt he was too good for us."
"He would've gotten around you guys and felt like he should be like you."
"So you proving Ant right. He was too good for us." Marco said. "I can't believe you pops. Never thought you'd do some foul shit like this. Now the nigga causing problems that could've been avoided if you would've just not lied."
"Let me fix this."
"Nah you did enough, which was nothing. Now I gotta take care of it. Just pray you ain't gotta bury your child."
