It had been a few months since Marco and Drea's wedding and while they were stuck in their honeymoon phase, others weren't. Just like Drea and Marco, you could say that Anthony and Apryl were love at first sight. The minute he saw her at the club, he had to have her. For Apryl, it was supposed to be just her having some fun but as time passed she began to fall head over heels for the third oldest of the Alexander clan.
He treated her like a queen. Whatever she wanted, she got it with no fuss. When Apryl had gotten pregnant with their son, the love Anthony had for her only grew stronger and stronger.
The last piece to the puzzle was getting her to change her last name, but that's where Apryl disconnected.
It was 3am in Houston, and hurricane season was in full of effect. A horrible thunderstorm was currently ripping through the city, causing floods and power outages. And just their luck, their neighborhood was dark. Apryl was always one to be prepared so she made sure to buy loads of candles and other supplies.
After they put baby Eli to bed, they went around putting candles in the spots where they'd need them the most. While doing that, they made sure to avoid each other at all costs.
The sound of the doorbell ringing made the both of them look up. Without saying anything, Anthony went over to the door looked at the peephole then opened it. "Wassup." He said to his brother, Drea and niece.
"What up fool, thanks for letting us come over." Marco said as he helped Drea through the door. Her seven month belly poking more than it did with Maddison. "I was so busy worrying about other shit I forgot to buy what we needed for this damn storm."
"We got plenty, y'all straight. Sis in law, you look ready to pop. Ain't it like two, three months left?"
Drea exhaled while waddling over to the couch and sitting down. "I'm halfway convinced that there's another baby in here hiding. I feel huge."
"Damn twins, you think you can handle two little babies at the same time Marc?"
"Man it's only one in there." Marco said while sitting next to his wife. "We had the doctor check a million times. Drea keeps using her being pregnant as an excuse to eat whatever she wants and this is the result."
"You talking about me like I'm not right here." Drea looked at him, ready to knock his head off.
"I'm speaking facts though and you know it."
"Whatever Marco."
Apryl finally made her way into the the living room, holding bottles of water. "Hey guys." She said while passing the water out. "I made up the guest room for y'all. I know Maddison is probably exhausted. First door upstairs to your right."
"She is and so am I." Drea said while attempting to get off the couch, but once she realized she wasn't getting up on her own, she looked at Marco and pouted. Sucking his teeth, he got up and helped her out of her seat. "Thank you baby, come on Maddie tell everybody goodnight."
A very tired Maddison waved with one hand while rubbing her eye with the other as she followed her mom.
Once they were gone, Marco relaxed in the couch while looking at the two extremely tense bodies in front of him. His eyebrows furrowed. "Y'all good?"
"Yeah, yes." They quickly lied.
"Fuck y'all looking so mad for then?"
"We supposed to be smiling at three in the morning?" Anthony asked in a smart tone, making his brother laugh. "You always crack under pressure." Marco said while getting up. "But I'm too sleepy to be messy so im out." Marco headed upstairs.
