"Drea....Andrea, it's been two months. If you don't speak with me you'll never get out of here."
Drea sat on the window seal of the mental facility that she was transferred to after being discharged from the hospital. Since the gun shot wound was self inflicted and the doctors were made aware by eavesdropping nurses that she has had multiple suicide attempts they forced her there.
It's been two months and she's barely said a word to anyone. The only way she can be released is if a psychiatrist signs off on her mental condition.
Exhaling, Drea looked over at the doctor that was paid to be fake concerned. "I shouldn't be here. I spent two months in the hospital and now it's been two months in here. I just want to go home."
"Then talk to me." Dr. Miller, pleaded.
"Alright, what do you want to know?"
"Why have you attempted suicide multiple times?"
"I've lived a crazy life unfortunately. Some moments have been very dark and I just get to a point where I feel that me being dead would be the best solution."
"For who?"
"Everybody."
"Even Maddison?"
Hearing her baby girls name, took the air out her body. She's only seen her briefly throughout this whole process and that hurt like hell. "If you're no longer here, who is going to nurture your baby girl? Who's going to give her that motherly love? Your mother?" Dr. Miller asked, while peaking at Drea over her thick black rimmed glasses.
"I don't know but I think she'd be better off with a mother that is mentally stable. Nothing like me."
"You don't mean that. I can tell by your face you don't."
The room grew quiet again.
"What was your first attempt?" Dr. Miller asked.
"When I thought I hurt someone that I grew a bond with." Drea said, referring to Lou."
"Can you give me more details?"
" I'm really not trying to go to jail."
"You know everything you say to me is confidential. What you say here, stays here."
"But that big camera up in the corner isn't confidential so we're going to stick with what I said."
"Okay, understandable. How did you try to harm yourself?"
"Took a bunch of sleeping pills. Every single time I attempt to end my life, someone saves me."
"Who saved you that day?"
"My little brother."
"So constantly being saved, you never take that as a sign that it's not your time just yet and that you're obviously meant to be here? That you just might have a greater purpose."
Drea shrugged. "Never thought about it that way."
"Tell me about your daughter."
For the first time in a while, a smile crept across Dreas face. "My little angel, she is so precious. Her name is Maddison and she's six months now. My baby has the prettiest smile and a set of eyes that you'll just get lost in. I feel like I'm missing so much. I've been away from my baby for too long."
"I know that's hard for you and her."
"Yes but I'm sure you're going to keep in here."
"Andrea you shot yourself in the stomach with hopes of bleeding out."
