"Beomgyu, just how many times are you gonna say that?!"
Five-year-old Yeonjun dramatically threw down his pencil, letting out an exasperated sigh that seemed far too grown-up for someone so small. He turned to the younger boy beside him, whose face radiated nothing but sheer admiration, heart eyes practically sparkling.
Beomgyu, of course, was blissfully unaware of the frustration building next to him, completely entranced by his latest muse.
"If you think she's so beautiful" Yeonjun began, trying his very best to imitate their teacher's scolding ton, "then why don't you just go say it to her? Not me!"
"But she... she looks kinda scary. Her friend, too..."
Yeonjun peered out of the classroom window, his tiny brows furrowed as he spotted the trio of kids in the distancesitting beside the swing set, two of whom were radiating a vibe that suggested they had just committed some heinous crime. The other one, however, seemed blissfully unaware, chattering away about something entirely inconsequential.
"He doesn't though? Look, he seems pretty cheerful"
"No! not him! The other one!"
Yeonjun let out a long, exaggerated sigh. His mouth shaped into an 'o' as he nodded, finally grasping the situation. "Yeah... not my problem, though." he shrugged, trying to play it cool.
"YEONJUNNN!"
Before Yeonjun could further distance himself from Beomgyu, he felt the smaller boy's hands grip his shoulders with the intensity of someone about to drop life-changing news and shake him quite aggressively for a four-year-old.
"We need to befriend them. Help meeeee!" Beomgyu whined, his voice hitting a pitch only dogs could truly appreciate.
Yeonjun, clearly fed up but too amused to truly be annoyed, rolled his eyes. "Why me? You're the one with the weird obsession. Just go over there and tell them about turtles or something."
