Mrs. Kim watched Y/N as she got up from the chair. She wanted to say something but was unable to do so. She could do nothing but sit there as Y/N walked out of the office, the door slamming shut behind her. She leaned back in the chair and let out a deep sigh, closing her eyes for a moment.

Y/N moved through the corridor, her steps directed towards the stairs, to the rooftop – a place she had claimed for herself. Knowing that access to this space was typically restricted, Y/N, being the niece of Mrs. Kim, had politely requested the keys and received them. She locked back the doors behind her as she entered. The rooftop was her quiet refuge, far removed from any disturbances.

She was gently caressed by a gentle breeze, its touch soothed her troubled mind. She breathed in the night air, feeling a sense of liberation, like a bird free from its cage. She lifted her gaze to admire the stunningly clear night sky. Although the thought of her parents still whispered in the back of her mind, she consciously chose to silence them for now, surrendering herself to the peaceful embrace of the calm rooftop setting.
Lost in the tranquility of the moment, Y/N's eyelids grew heavier and heavier. Before she could even realize it, a wave of darkness enveloped her as she drifted off into a deep sleep, alone on the roof.

The next morning

Sunrise marked the arrival of yet another ordinary morning, bringing with it tranquility that filled the air with a comforting peace. As Mina walked out of her house and joined Jihyo, she noticed that someone was missing.

"Jihyo-unnie, you're alone today? Where is Y/N?"

"I don't know, she doesn't answer my messages."

The two were anxious, their minds filled with worry, but they fought to assure themselves that perhaps Y/N hadn't woken up yet, and her phone was just set to "silent".
They made their way until they crossed paths with the girls, immediately asking if they had seen or knew where Y/N is. However, the girls also didn't know where she was either.

When they arrived at the school, there was still no sign of Y/N. They entered the school and asked all the students who passed by if they had seen Y/N but they hadn't either.

"Hey, did you see Y/N?" "Do you know where Y/N-unnie is?" "Did you see Y/N-unnie yesterday?"

As the girls had to head to class, they released a collective sigh, feeling troubled by the fact that there was still no sign of Y/N. Jihyo tried her best to offer comfort and reassurance.
Despite her own worries, she acknowledged that there was nothing they could do in their current situation. Remaining stressed wouldn't do any good, either, she thought.

"Let's go all to class. I know you are all worried but-" Before Jihyo could finish talking, Jeongyeon cut her off.

"How could I go to class when our best friend is literally missing!" Jeongyeon's outburst echoed through the air as she yelled.

The girls' eyes turned to her, surprised by the anger in her voice, a rare moment they had never witnessed before. Yet, at the same time, they couldn't help but silently agree with her.

"I know you're all worried about Y/N, and so am I. But we mustn't let our emotions consume us like this. We need to remain calm first, then we can think clearly about where she might be." Jihyo spoke to the girls, her voice measured and gentle, acknowledging their worry.

They were all aware that panicking wouldn't help in the search for Y/N, but their concern for her weighed heavily on their minds. The girls nodded in agreement, bidding each other goodbye as they headed to their respective classes, Y/N remaining a constant thought.
