Chapter XXI

With the final rang of the bell, signaling the end of the school day, the students began to walk out of the building.

Some students were headed to their homes, some other to their clubs.

But instead of heading home or to their clubs, eight girls found themselves in the gymn, mops in hand.

Chaeyoung voiced her frustration, exclaiming, "Ahhhhh! I don't want to do it!" and threw her mop.

"I want to go home and rest!" Dahyun added with a heavy sigh.

"I should be playing at my PC by now..." Mina pouted, expressing her desire to be at home playing her favorite video games.

"It's all your fault, Sattang!" Momo accused and pointed to Sana.

"Me?!" Sana pointed to herself in disbelief and offense.

The girls began their chorus of whining and complaining about the task of cleaning the gym.

Jihyo's patience was growing thin as she couldn't stand the constant complaints. In an instant, she shot a death glare at the girls, silencing them immediately.

Jihyo took a deep breath, trying to gather her patience. She turned around and addressed the girls, her voice laced with determination.

"The faster we clean, the sooner we get to home. So, let's get this done quickly!” She exclaimed, hoping to motivate her friends.

The girls responded in unison, "Yes ma'am..." Their unmotivated tone was evident in their voices.

The sound of the gym door opening interrupted their cleaning progress, and the girls' faces lit up upon seeing Jeongyeon enter.

"There are eight of you, you have sixteen arms, and you're telling me you guys can't even clean the gym properly?" Jeongyeon friendly mocked and grabbed a mop.

The girls chuckled sheepishly at Jeongyeon's comment.

"Cleaning has simply never been my thing~" Sana said with a cheeky grin, sticking out her tongue.

"I already knew that, miss Minatozaki." Jeongyeon commented and gave her a gentle smack on her head.

"Wait, Jeongyeon unnie, why are you here?" Dahyun asked, wondering what had brought her to the gym.

"I heard you girls were given a punishment." Jeongyeon explained, her voice laced with amusement.

"And knowing you all too well, most of you are probably far too lazy. So that's why I'm here to help." She added with a shrug.

"How did you know??" Momo asked curiously, leaning on Sana's shoulder.

"What? You being the laziest?" Jeongyeon responded in a teasing tone, a smirk on her face.

In response, Momo pouted and furrowed her brows. She chose to not respond and leaned her head further against Sana's shoulder, making Sana chuckle at her childishness.

"How did you know we were punished?" Mina repeated Momo's question, this time with more specificity.

"Did you honestly think that no one saw you all running and laughing in the hallways before getting caught by Kim seon-saeng-nim?" Jeongyeon explained with amusement.

"Honestly, I wish I had been here to witness the scene myself." Jeongyeon added and chuckled, her imagination vividly painting the moment.

The girls exchanged sheepish glances and couldn't help but chuckles softly. Realizing how they had gotten so caught up in their run through the hall that they forgot the people around them.
