Chapter XXII

"Jeongyeon-"

"Jeongyeon-ssi! Nayeon-ssi!"

As Nayeon was about to speak to Jeongyeon, Mrs. Kim suddenly interrupted, calling out their names.

The unexpected interruption disrupted the intimate moment between them, snapping them back to reality.

Both Jeongyeon and Nayeon gazes quickly broke from each other as they turned to pay attention to Mrs. Kim.

Jeongyeon and Nayeon quickly composed themselves and bowed respectfully to Mrs. Kim, greeting her.

"Good evening, Kim seon-saeng-nim."

"Good evening-" Mrs. Kim was about to respond to their greetings until she noticed their drenched state.

With a mix of confusion, she addressed them both, "What on earth happened to you two? You're both completely soaked!"

Jeongyeon and Nayeon only could chuckle nervously and sheepishly scratched the backs of their heads.

"You two should quickly head home and take a shower!" Mrs. Kim's words carried a mix of concern and warning.

Then she handed the girls a plastic bag, "Oh, and here are some snacks for the hard work."

Jeongyeon spoke up, accepting the snacks, "Thank you, Kim seon-saeng-nim."

Mrs. Kim bid farewell, reminding the girls not to stay too late. She waved goodbye and rushed off, leaving Jeongyeon and Nayeon alone once more.

Once Mrs. Kim departed, the silence settled between Jeongyeon and Nayeon.

Jeongyeon eventually broke the silence, "We should go back to the girls."

Nayeon responded with a nod, silently agreeing with Jeongyeon's suggestion.

Together, they began walking back to the gym where the others were gathered, their damp clothes leaving wet footprints on the ground.

As they walked side by side, their footsteps syncing, a silence filled the air. It was not a heavy silence but rather a calm and confortable one.

The sound of the door opening caught the attention of the girls' attention.

Jeongyeon entered with Nayeon, proudly showing the bag of snacks in her right hand while holding the door open with her left.

Jeongyeon announced, her voice cheerful, "We're back! And look what we have-snacks!"

As soon as TWICE heard the mention of snacks, their eyes lit up, and they rushed towards Jeongyeon, not paying attention to the two drenched state.

Momo wasted no time in snatching the bag of snacks, eagerly searching for her favorite snacks but earned whines from the other.

Dahyun protested, attempting to take back the bag from Momo, "Momo-unnie, you can't just grab it like that!!"

Chaeyoung joined in, "Give it back, Unnie!" Attempting to help Dahyun get the bag back, but Momo was determined to hold on to it.

The group erupted into a play-fight over the bag of snacks. The room filled with laughter and playful banter as the girls fought playfully over the snacks.

Jeongyeon chuckled at the scene, amused by the chaotic display.

"Hey, hey, easy there. There's plenty of snacks for everyone." Jeongyeon intervened, trying to calm the situation.
