Chapter XIX

Early in the morning, the sun gradually lit up the sky, greeting the beginning of the day with a peaceful rise.

We could see that the summer season was drawing to a close, as the sun rose later than usual.
An annoying alarm echoed in the silence, beeping endlessly and yet Mina remained asleep, cozily buried in her warm blanket.

Mina would be still sleeping if her brother, Kai, didn't come to wake her up.
He entered her room, after knocking a few times, and slowly approached her. In one smooth motion, he removed the blankets off her body.

Feeling the sudden cold on her skin, Mina opened her eyes, still half-asleep. She tried to find her beloved blanket which led her to Kai, who held it in his hands.

Frustrated and still sleepy, Mina softly whined, "Give it baaaack..."

"Not until you get off your bed and go wash yourself." Kai replied as he stuck out his tongue playfully and made his way out of the room, still holding Mina's blanket hostage.

Mina softly groaned, not eager to leave her cozy and soft bed. She reached out and felt around until she found her phone, then opened it, hoping for a message.

But to her disappointment, she had no messages. With a sigh, she got up from her bed and washed herself.

Meanwhile,

Kai made his way down the stairs, still holding Mina's blanket in his hands.

He announced to his mother, who was busy cooking breakfast, "Mommm~ Mina is awake now.", to which his mother responded with a thanks, still focused on the food she was preparing.

She finally lifted her head and raised an eyebrow, confused to see Kai carrying a blanket.

Kai's mother stayed silent for a moment, trying to make sense of the situation. Eventually, asked him directly, "What are you doing with a blanket?"

Kai looked at the blanket then back to her mother and simply replied, "It's Mina's."

Kai's mother shook her head in amusement, sighing softly, she had a clear imagination in her mind of the situation. "Be careful with it. You might end up tripping over it." She said.

Kai confidently assured his mother, "Don't worry, I can handle—" But as he took a step, his foot tangled in the blanket, causing him to stumble and his head smacked on the floor.

"Ow..." Kai winged in pain.

His mother couldn't help but chuckle softly at his clumsyness. She reminded him as she quickly loved to help him up, "I told you."

Back to Mina,

After a refreshing wash, Mina moved to put on her clothes but was quickly interrupted by the buzz of her phone.

Eager to check the notification, she attempted to grab her phone but found herself trapped in her shirt. She found herself fighting with her shirt before she finally grabbed  her phone.

She opened it, hoping for the message she's been waiting for, but her enthusiasm faded upon checking her messages.

All she found were notifications from the group chat. A soft sigh escaped her lips, tinged with disappointment.
