Big Time Hangout

Part 3

We got done and the guys were trying to convince me to let them do the dishes but that wasn't going to happen. I quickly loaded the dishwasher while they were sitting there arguing with me and said, "Well no sense in arguing. It's done now and we can go."

We hit the road and by the directions Kendall was giving me it looked to me like we were going somewhere I spent most of my childhood. We turned in and I looked at him, "What is this?" I asked.

He laughed, "We rented the place out. We know kids Katie's age like it so we thought it would be cool."

I laughed, "Kendall I haven't been on skates in YEARS."

From the backseat James said, "Oh it's just like riding a bike. It will all come back to you."

We climbed out and headed into the skating rink and Katie was looking at me smiling from ear to ear. I got next to her and asked, "So are you ready?"

She laughed, "Oh its going to be SO much fun but are YOU ready?"

I looked at her, "Katie what are you talking about?"

She just chuckled, "I guess you will have to find out." and she skipped ahead of us.

We all went inside and started putting on our rollerblades. Katie was out on the rink with Carlos, Logan, James and Kendall and I was still trying to get mine on. Once I finally had them laced up I took a deep breath and stood up almost falling immediately. I got my balance and just stood there for a second trying to decide if this really was a good idea.

I started for the rink to join everybody else and lost my footing falling right on my butt. I turned a bright shade of red. I was sure hoping nobody saw but I didn't get that lucky.

James and Kendall came skating over and said in unison, "Need some help?" and they were both holding out their hands.

I reached up taking Kendall's hand and then James'. Kendall looked at James and smiled.

I had no idea what that was all about. I guess he is laughing because I busted my butt.

They helped me up and we all skated together for a few minutes so that I could get my balance and remember how to do this. Carlos, Logan and Katie skated up to us and Logan said, "Switch?"

I laughed, "I think I can handle it now." I looked up at Kendall and James who were giving Logan a weird look, but they let go of my hands and Carlos and Logan each took my hands, and we skated some more while Katie was skating with Kendall and James. I got the feeling yet again that I was being watched. It was a very creepy feeling, but we were inside, so I didn't know why I felt that way.

Carlos and Logan looked at each other and Carlos let go, skating away. Logan locked his arm in mine and said, "Shall we?"

I had to laugh. "I guess we shall." I said and we skated together for a few minutes.

I heard Carlos come over the speaker, "Can the birthday girl please come to the table for cake and ice cream."

I kind of laugh and said to Logan, "Did he really have to do that? I mean we are the only people in here."

Logan chuckled, "I guess it makes him feel important. We can't deny him that can we?" He asked.

We skated over to the table and there was a cake with the guys airbrushed on it. Kendall lit the candles and said to Katie, "I hope you like it."

Katie jumped up and down and hollered "Like it? I LOVE IT!" and she hugged each of them.

We sang happy birthday and sat down after Katie blew out the candles. We were on a picnic type table and on one side of me was Kendall and on the other was Logan with James sitting directly across from me.
