Big Time Hangout

Part 4

It hit me I hadn't called my parents. I looked, started to check my pockets and couldn't find my phone. Carlos smiled at me, "Here use mine." he said handing me his phone.

I called my parents and of course they freaked out and were coming straight home even though I assured them there was nothing they could do.

I handed Carlos back his phone and rolled my eyes, "They will be here in an hour."

He chuckled, "Well do you really think you could keep them away?"

I just smiled at him and Katie started to wake up. "Sis?" she said in a whisper.

I leaned down, "I'm right here Katie. How do you feel?"

She smiled at me, "I have a headache. What happened?"

Carlos said, "You were in a car accident but you're going to be fine baby girl."

She looked at Carlos and back at me, "I guess I wasn't dreaming. He called me baby girl."

I laughed, leave it to Katie to focus on Carlos calling her baby girl.

We arrived at the hospital with the other three guys right behind us. They rushed her in to do some tests and we were left in the waiting room.

James and Kendall were on each side of me and Logan was kneeling in front of me. They were trying to apologize but I didn't want to hear it. Carlos came up, "Why don't you guys go get us something to drink while we wait."

They all gave him a look but left and he sat down next to me, "So sorry about them. They can be a handful sometimes."

I turned to him, "It's okay I guess. I just wish none of this had happened. I know Katie is glad she met you guys but I'm starting to wish I never had." I quickly added, "No offense."

He smiled and put his arm around me, "It's okay. I know what you meant." and laid his head on my shoulder. I sat there quite content with Carlos, but I was worried about Katie.

The doctor came in with James, Kendall and Logan right behind him, "(yn) your sister will be fine. She has a concussion, and we were concerned about her blacking out for so long so we will keep her overnight for observation, but she should be fine."

Carlos hugged me and I turned to the doctor, "Can we see her?" and he showed us to her room.

We stood up and headed in and I was still a little shaky. Kendall and Logan put their arms around my shoulders, and I let out an irritated sigh. Carlos gave them a look and they moved. He put his arm around my shoulder to help steady me and we went in the room.

James grabbed a chair and pulled it close to the bed, "Here you go." He said to me.
Carlos sat me in the chair and went to sit on the edge of Katie's bed, "Hey baby girl. How were you feeling?"

I could tell he cared about her very much and was worried. I noticed I was surrounded by Kendall, James, and Logan. I rolled my eyes and let out an irritated sigh. Carlos looked up and then back at Katie, "Baby girl I will be right back. There is something I need to take care of but I promise I won't be far." and he got up telling the other three, "We need to talk in the hall." and walked out of the room with them following.

I leaned over to Katie, "That Carlos is something else."

She smiled at me, "Yeah I think I need to re arrange my book and put him first."

I put my hand on her arm, "Mom and dad will be here shortly."

Katie rolled her eyes, "Why did you have to call them? They are going to come home and ruin our good time." She giggled.
