About a week had passed since the incident at the movies. It was now Saturday, the day before the tournament. The twins would be going to hang out with Aisha, Demetri, Hawk and Bert at the park for a while.
Things between the twins were now back to normal. It had taken Michelle a few days and about ninety apologies from Miguel to even consider speaking to him again, but once she did, it was like nothing had come between them in the first place.
With Eli on the other hand, things were proving to be a bit more complicated. At school, whenever Miguel wasn't around, he would take it upon himself to follow her around and attempt to get her to talk to him. She had decided that it was best that they stayed away from each other until their feelings died down. He was not on board with that. Everyday after school without fail he would call and text her but she would ignore them. She was just hoping he would give up. And every day, he would send fewer texts. It was obviously working.
Michelle hated every moment of ignoring Eli. She tried and tried to get him out of her head but to no avail. She even had to silence his notifications so she wouldn't be tempted to respond every time he texted. It was hurting her. But this was just a silly little crush that would go away soon enough, right?

3 Text messages from Mohawk
It was now 11 am. Michelle had woken up about an hour ago but had just been scrolling on her phone. She stopped and watched the calls roll in. She debated answering just to hear what he had to say but decided against it. She was just about to open his messages when Miguel barged through the bathroom door, making her sit up quickly and throw her phone under the blanket so that he wouldn't see. Even though Michelle never answered, she knew Miguel wouldn't like that he had been texting her and much less what he had been saying.
"Hey. Get ready to go. Aisha is picking us up in like 30 minutes," Miguel said.
"Yeah okay. Got it," Michelle replied with a tight lipped smile while nodding her head.
