22. Hysteria

"I wonder why he's not replying to my messages when he had read them. Does he not like me anymore??" Jungkook muttered to himself, pouting sulkily, as he entered the CEO's office.

It was Hoseok who acknowledged his presence who was working with a couple of secretaries inside the office, "Yah, Jungkookie.. why are you here?!! Didn't dad say that you can't go to work yet!"

He then went back to his laptop as he hissed at the phone that was ringing nonstop, "Damn these reporters! They just won't give up! Secretary Soh, please answer the phone, and Sec. Jang, kindly reply to these emails that I will forward to you. Tell them that we can't give an official statement yet. Just-- just make it more polite coz I can't think of respectful words right now - I just want to curse all of them!!"

"Hey hyung, I'm getting bored in the house! I need to go to training, or I'll go rusty. Where is dad? And what is going on here?! You seem so busy."

"Well, apparently, your compatibility rate with Guide Seokjin leaked from the Guide Center. So dad had to go and meet with them and the KCGG, to sort things out and obtain permission to make an official announcement. Because these reporters won't give up until they get the full story!"

"Really?! How did that happen? We pretty much did a clean job, didn't we?!" Jungkook asked as he took his seat in front of Hoseok's desk.

"Obviously, we did not!! I don't know.. since we weren't aware of using the equipment, it seems like it prints the results automatically when an active printer is connected to it. I think one staff saw the printouts the following day." Hoseok sighed and leaned his back on his chair.

He then continued, "I think this is the reason why dad did not want you to go to work yet. So you won't get caught by the reporters outside."

"How about my Seokjin-ah? Where is he?"

"I'm not sure. Maybe he's continuing on his training. His face is not well known yet amongst the reporters, so he can still get away from them. However, if this comes out as an official announcement, Guide Seokjin will be as popular as Jimin in an instant."

"Well, I'd love to tell the whole nation about how perfectly compatible I am with Seokjin, but tchh-- I don't like that there's just gotta be a lot of nosy people in this world. I'm sure that the Director of the KCGG won't sit still.." Jungkook scoffed then stood up to head right out.

"Wait- where are you going? You should go home or I'll get in trouble again!!"

"No, you won't. Tell dad that you did not see me come here. I'm going to train. And can you please send out a notification for Seokjin in the Guides' central com - tell him to go to the Espers' training department so I can get guiding after my first session. Coz he's not responding to my private messages. That way, he'll be obliged to come. Thanks, hyung!"

Hoseok just let out a deep breath as he watched his brother head out. He then muttered to himself, "I'm as busy as it is, and here I just do as he requested. Tch!"

Jin sighed as he stared at the request that came up from his notifications. It has arrived several minutes ago but he just kept staring at it, unsure of what to click as a response.

He wasn't sure if he could already face his Esper as he's not someone who can easily lie about something or hide what he's feeling. But it's been days that Jungkook has not received guiding, so he knew he needs to be there for him.
