27. Jealous

With clenched fists and jaw, Jungkook quickly stood up and marched on his way to head out of the main entrance of the restaurant. The veins on his forehead were popping out, clearly visible like the roots of a tree already branching out after being buried down below the soil.

But the S-Class Esper was breathing in and out deeply as he tried to calm himself down. He then stepped away from the restaurant as he took his phone from his pocket.

Meanwhile, inside the restaurant, the once peaceful ambiance suddenly emerged terror because of the shaking tables and chairs - as if the floor was breaking away from the ground due to a strong earthquake. The glasses and tableware were falling one by one, their shattered glasses scattering on the cracked floors.

Jin's eyes widened as he and Sang-uk connected eyes. They quickly gripped onto their table while holding their breaths as they felt as if everything around was being lifted high along with them and the ground they're standing on.

"Oh no, oh no.. don't tell me.. shitt--" Jin muttered to himself. He grew even more nervous when his phone suddenly rang and when he saw whose name was displayed on the screen.

Slightly gulping, Jin answered his mobile phone, "H-hello, Esper J-jeon?!"

"Guide Seokjin, I suggest you come out of that restaurant now and end that fucking blind date - or else that whole restaurant will stay floating in the air 50 meters above the ground. I don't care how long I have to hold it, but I'm not putting it back down until you leave that place and that bastard!"

"W-what?! W-we are what--" Jin looked at Sang-uk, who seemed to be looking wary as well. Then he stopped at hearing the other customers and the restaurant staff screaming as they panicked.

"OH MY GOODDD!! LOOK OUTSIDE!! WE'RE FLOATING!!! WE ARE FLOATING!!!!"

"WAAAHHH!! WE ARE SO UP HIGH!!! HELLPPPP!!!! WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO???!!!!!"

"E-esper Jeon!! What are you doing??!" Jin whispered to his phone, but his tone was worried and furious at the same time. "Do you have any idea how many innocent people are in here?!"

"Then.. get.. out." Jungkook said with conviction.

"I-- I will! I will go with you. Just- just please put the building down safely!" Jin pleaded, his voice was almost trembling as he could feel the ground shaking.

Without hearing anything else from the other line, the call was already ended. So Jin put his phone back to his pocket and said to Sang-uk, "I-I'm so sorry Sanguk-ssi. But I need to leave now so the rest of you can go home safely."

"W-what's going on, Seokjin-ssi?" Sang-uk took a while before realizing what's happening as he tried to read Jin's eyes. "Was it because of-- ah, I think I get it. B-but.. will I ever meet you again, Seokjin-ssi? I mean- I don't mind not getting paid for tonight, but I really would like to see you again and spend time wit---"

"AAAHHHH!!! WE'RE FALLINGG!! WE'RE CRASHING DOWN!!!!"

Jin and Sang-uk hugged each other tightly as they felt the rush of force caused by the whole building falling down. Both had their eyes shut while the others were shouting and screaming of fear.

But everyone gasped as the restaurant abruptly stopped from falling midway and as if a strong breeze of the wind gently placed the whole building down back to the ground.

Desperate sobs and sighs of relief echoed around the restaurant while Jin let out a deep sigh when he felt that they were all back down safely. But he quickly sprang up to get out from Sang-uk's arms as he awkwardly smiled, "I-- sorry. I mean, thank you. Uhm, Sanguk-ssi, about what you were saying earlier - I suggest for you not to try at all seeing me again. I-it's for your own safety. Uhm, thank you for keeping me company tonight."
