25. Mission Abort

The following day. Hybe's Recovery Area for Espers.

The whole room was full of nothing but an awkward silence as Jin stood beside the bed where Jinwoo was laying down. The latter did not want to utter much as their company's S-Class Esper was standing just behind Jin.

But Jin tried to ease the tension inside the recovery room by clearing his throat loudly and putting up a smile, as he said, "Esper Jinwoo, h-how are you feeling? I came here with Esper Jeon to see if you're doing better now."

Jin kindly patted the Esper's newly healed arm, which caused for the latter to flinch a bit.

"Ah- uhm, y-yes. Chief Guide Yoongi was able to heal my hand and attach it back." Jinwoo said softly. "I-I'm really sorry for the misunderstanding, Guide Seokjin and E-esper Jeon."

Jungkook suddenly stepped closer which made the other Esper quickly scoot further to the other side of the bed.

"Ah, Esper Jinwoo, please don't worry." Jin chuckled awkwardly, "Esper Jeon is here to apologize too, so please, you can now relax."

"R-really?!"

Jin nodded, then he glanced at Jungkook - as if signaling him to say something.

So Jungkook let out a sigh and said with a nonchalant expression, "Yeah. Sorry for cutting your hand off. Though you deserve it for being an asshole, bragging about something you shouldn't."

"Esper Jeon.." Jin whispered with an elbow nudge.

"Tch- fine!" Jungkook said annoyingly. But then he spoke a bit more sincerely, "I apologize for losing it. I can promise that I won't do it again - as long as you won't do the same mistake.

As a Hybe Esper, you should practice what we learn here and and be a more responsible and respectful Esper. Though you only followed orders from the CEO, at least do not go around telling bullshits that were supposed to be confidential.

And from now on, stay away from Guide Seokjin if you don't like to go thru the same pain of losing a hand. Or maybe a limb. So yeah, again, I'm sorry."

Jin smiled awkwardly as he looked at Jinwoo's reaction. The latter softly cleared his throat and slightly smiled, he said, "I- uhm, was that really an apology? It sounded like a death th-threat to me.

W-well, anyways.. I am very sorry too, for being such an asshole. I don't mean any harm to Guide Seokjin, but I know I have disrespected you both. So, I'm really sorry."

Jin then let out a satisfied smile, he said, "Thank you, Esper Jinwoo--"

"Okay, all sorted now. Let's go." Jungkook cut Jin's words, then he quickly pulled the Guide to the door and headed out as he muttered, "You're smiling at him too much."

Jin just pouted a bit, as if thinking, then pulled his phone from his pocket as he walked behind Jungkook. He quickly sent a message out to a group chat that said:

"Guys, negative - it won't work with Esper Jinwoo anymore. He's too scared of Esper Jeon now."

The latest update just came out from the Korea City Guards Guild.. Hybe has finally released an official statement, approved by the KCGG, regarding the country's top S-Class Esper, Jeon Jungkook and the details to his guiding status as at to date.
