Chapter 22

Bea POV

I placed the grocery bags underneath her dining table. Then Aleiah approached me and trying to reach my collar.

"It's hard to flirt with you at times, you are too tall." I just laughed and sat at the chair near us. She sat on my lap and began toying with my collar again.

"So Coach Sherwin told me I would finally have my playing time tomorrow. I was hoping I would see you in the crowd."

I gave her a quick peck on the lips. "Okay I'll be there. What time?"

"It's the second match around 4 pm."

"Cool. I'll be cheering for you."

She playfully slapped my shoulder but sported a huge smile on her face. Maybe it's worth a shot to finally do something I wasn't able to do with someone special to me before.

"You really don't have to. Just seeing you there is enough. They don't need to know."

I sat beside Ate Ly sa loob ng filsports arena.

"Good to see you again ate."

"Oh wow Bei you graced us with your presence."

"Pinakiusapan ako manood ate e makakahindi ba ko?"

"Alam naman natin wala kang hilig manood ng games sa crowd. Sino naman ang nakapilit sa isang Bea De Leon?"

"Ayoko kasing naiistorbo pag nanonood alam mo naman yun. Kunyari pa si ate di alam e may nakakalagpas bang balita sa creamline?"

Dumaan sa harap namin si Ate Den at napansin  agad ako nito bago tumabi kay Ate Ly. "Uy Bei you're here. Maglalaro kasi si Aleiah no?" Sabay hagikgik nito.

"Ayos ka talaga ate Den no wala pa rin kupas ang pagkapasmado ng bibig."

"Maiba ako Bei. Ano ba plano mo? Alam mo pag tinatanong namin siya kung kayo na di siya makasagot kahit halatang kilig na kilig pag nababanggit ka. Baka pineplaytime mo lang yung bata namin lagot ka talaga sakin." Hirit ni Ate Ly.

"Pinag-iisipan ko naman ate when is the right time to make it official. Balato niyo na samin yun. Mahalaga ngayon napapasaya namin ang isa't-isa."

Nagtama ang paningin namin ni Aleiah while she was warming up and she waved at us. You could see the happiness in her eyes. I returned a finger heart in response and she couldn't contain her laughter.

I was already contemplating on making it official with Aleiah. I mean she is a nice girl, beautiful and smart too. More importantly, we connect. But then I noticed this car na very familiar. Lagi ko napapansin yung car na malapit sa physiolab and I swore I saw a glimpse of Cait. It really does look like her car. Sayang di ko nasulyapan yung plate number. One time I tried to chase it kaso ambilis pumulas ng driver nakaalis agad. Inalert ko yung mga staff ko to keep an eye on that car and installed some new CCTV around there. Cait na naman kelan ka ba mawawala sa sistema ko? When I should be focusing on my present. Si Aleiah yung nandiyan, she is the one I need right now.

Nagulat ako when Aleiah was already at the doorstep of my office.

"You know you are getting harder to reach these days."

"Busy lang."

"Tell me Bei what are we doing? How many times do we have to go out? I mean you were the one who asked me out first but it seems we are just going around in circles."

"We have lots of fun together Aleiah. Isn't that enough?"

"Just because I grew up in Canada it doesn't mean I don't want a serious relationship. What do you take me for? Tell you what let's stop seeing each other for now. Call me when you are ready to step up."
