Lisa clarified, "No, he doesn't get rough when biting my ears. He bites them teasingly and coolly. It's just his way of punishment and showing affection, I guess."
Deva's confusion turned to relief. "Oh, okay! I was worried for a second. That sounds more like playful flirting than abuse. But still, be careful, Lisa. If you ever feel uncomfortable or scared, trust your instincts."
Deva's understanding was evident in her response. "I see. So, it's like a playful love bite, but only when he wants to tease you. Got it."
Lisa nodded, even though Deva couldn't see her. "Exactly. It's his way of showing affection, but also of asserting control, I think."
Deva's tone turned serious. "Control? Lisa, that's a red flag. No one should use physical affection as a means of control. You deserve better than that."
Lisa sighed, feeling a mix of emotions. "I know, Deva. But it's complicated. He's not all bad. And I like him for that."
Deva's response was gentle but firm. "I know you do, Lisa. But remember, you deserve to be loved and respected, not controlled or manipulated. Keep your eyes open, okay?"
"I will try talking to him about the divorce again later," Lisa typed a sense of determination in her words.
Deva's response was encouraging. "That's the spirit, Lisa! Remember to be calm and assertive. You deserve to be heard and respected."
Lisa nodded, even though Deva couldn't see her. "I will. I've been thinking a lot about what I want to say and how I want to say it."
Deva's response was supportive. "You got this, Lisa! Just be yourself and express your feelings honestly. And remember, I'm here for you, no matter what happens."
Lisa took a deep breath, feeling a sense of resolve. "Thanks, Deva. I'll need all the luck I can get."
Deva's response was upbeat. "You won't need luck, Lisa! You just need to be yourself and stand up for what you want. Keep me posted on how it goes, okay?"
As the chat ended, Lisa breathed a sigh of relief before returning to her room. She felt a sense of gratitude towards Deva for being such a supportive friend. Talking to her always made Lisa feel better, more confident, and more determined.
As she lay down on her pink bed, the silence enveloped her like a warm blanket. The stillness of the night was almost palpable, punctuated only by the occasional sound of the air-conditioning. The clock on her nightstand read 1:23 AM, a reminder that the world outside was asleep, oblivious to her turmoil.
Lisa's gaze drifted upwards, her eyes tracing the contours of the ceiling as her mind began to wander. She thought about her conversation with Deva and the looming talk with Lugard. Her heart felt heavy, weighed down by the uncertainty of it all.
The quiet of the night seemed to amplify her thoughts, making them feel louder and more urgent. Lisa's breath caught in her throat as she felt a single tear roll down her cheek. She wiped it away, her hand brushing against the soft fabric of her comforter.
In the darkness, Lisa felt a sense of solitude, a feeling of being alone in her struggles. But she knew she wasn't alone. Deva was out there, cheering her on, and Lisa found solace in that thought. With a deep breath, she closed her eyes, letting the silence of the night wash over her.
As Lisa lay there thinking, suddenly her door creaked open and someone walked into her room in the middle of the night. Lisa became alert and her eyes widened. The person walked towards her bed slowly, their presence ominous in the darkness.
Lisa's instincts kicked in, and she quietly grabbed the bed lamp table, ready to defend herself. As the person drew closer, she threw the lamp towards them in a swift motion.
The person saw the lamp coming towards him and tried to catch it, but then decided to let it hit him instead. The lamp smashed into the person's forehead.
The sound of shattering glass and the crash echoed through the room.
Lisa's heart raced as she froze, her eyes fixed on the figure,
As the bed lamp smashed into the person's face, Lisa rushed to turn on the room light, her heart racing with anticipation. But as the light flickered on, she was shocked to the core by what she saw. A cold shiver ran down her spine as she felt like crying and begging for mercy.
Lugard stood before her, his face twisted in a mixture of anger and frustration. Blood trickled down his forehead from the gash caused by the lamp, but he didn't seem to notice. His eyes blazed with a fierce intensity, piercing through Lisa like a dagger.
Lisa took a step back, her hands raised in a defensive gesture. "Mr Lu, I...I was scared," she stammered, trying to explain.
But Lugard didn't seem to care. He took a step closer, his voice low and menacing. "You think you can attack me and get away with it?" he growled, his eyes flashing with anger.
Lisa felt a surge of fear as she realized she had made a terrible mistake. She had nowhere to run, no way to escape the wrath that was Lugard. She could only stand there, frozen in terror, as he loomed over her, his anger and frustration radiating like a palpable force.
"Sorry, I thought you were a kidnapper," Lisa's voice trembled in terror. She couldn't take her eyes off the blood gushing out of Lugard's wound. Lugard's handsome spotless face was now covered in blood.
Lugard's expression twisted in pain as he touched his bleeding forehead. His palm came away covered in bright red blood, and Lisa felt a wave of nausea wash over her. She wanted to scream at the sight of the gushing blood, but her voice was trapped in her throat.
Lugard took a step closer to her, his eyes blazing with intensity. "A kidnapper?" he repeated, his voice low and menacing. "Why would you think that?" in my house."
Lisa shook her head, trying to clear the cobwebs. "You were sneaking around in the dark. I didn't know what you wanted."
He feels like strangling Lisa right now, but he looks at her coldly instead. His eyes bore into her soul, making her shiver with fear.
The butler and maids, alerted by the noise of the shattering lamp, rush to Lisa's room, thinking that something happened but they heard Lugard's voice from the room. Thinking that Lugard and Lisa are fighting. They stand outside, panicked, wondering if Lugard is beating Lisa up or if Lisa fighting with their young master.
The butler, trying to be brave, rushes into Lisa's room but is shocked by the sight of blood covering Lugard's face. His legs weaken, and he nearly loses his balance.
Lugard's eyes shoot at him coldly. "Get out," he says, his voice dripping with malice.
The butler feels like Lugard's gaze is burning him, sending cold shivers down his body. He turns immediately and flees the room.
Lisa is left alone with Lugard, who is still bleeding profusely. She tries to speak, but her voice is barely a whisper. "Mr lu, I..."
Lisa's mouth trembles as Lugard strides towards her, his eyes blazing with fury. He looks like a bloody demon coming from the pit of hell, his face twisted in a snarl.
Lugard's hand shoots out, grabbing Lisa by the neck. His grip is like a vice, squeezing the air out of her. Lisa's eyes widen in terror as she tries to struggle, but Lugard's hold is too strong.
"You think you can attack me and get away with it?" Lugard hisses, his breath hot against Lisa's face. "You think you can hurt me and I'll just forgive you?"
Lisa tries to speak, but her voice is barely a whisper. "Mr Lu, please..."
But Lugard's grip only tightens. "You're going to pay for what you did," he growls, his eyes flashing with anger.
