Lisa's eyes sparkled.

"We'll see about that," she whispered.

Lugard's grin widened.

"Oh, I'm shaking in my boots."

He reached out, his fingers tracing her jawline.

Lisa's skin tingled, her pulse racing.

"You're playing with fire," she warned.

Lugard's eyes burned.

"I love the heat."

Suddenly, Lisa's phone buzzed.

She stepped back, breaking the spell.

"Saved by the bell," Lugard teased.

Lisa glanced at her phone.

"My friend Didi's calling," she said.

Lugard's expression turned serious.

"Answer it."

Lisa hesitated because of the angry tone of the ringing tone.

"Maybe it's important," Lugard pressed.

Lisa nodded, answering the call.

"Hey, Didi. What's up?"

Didi's voice was frantic.

"Lisa, you won't believe what's happening here!"

Lugard took the phone from Lisa's hand his voice was icy.

"She's busy tonight. You can talk tomorrow."

The words cut through the line.

Before Emma could respond.

Lugard ended the call.

Abruptly.

Emma's eyes widened.

Stunned.

She stared at her phone.

The screen read "Call ended".

A mix of emotions swirled.

Confusion. Concern. Frustration.

Did Lugard just hang up on her?

And what did he mean by "busy"?

Didi's mind raced.

Questions piled up.

She dialed Lisa's number again.

It went straight to voicemail.

"Busy" indeed.

Didi's gut told her there is something going on between the couple .

Lisa's eyes widened in shock.

"Mr Lu, what are you doing?" she demanded.

Lugard's expression remained cold.

"You're busy tonight," he repeated.

Lisa's anger flared.

"That's not your decision to make."

Lugard's gaze never wavered.

"I decide what happens in my estate."

Lisa's hands clenched.

"You can't control me."

Lugard's smile was icy.

"Oh, but I can."

Suddenly, Lisa's phone buzzed again.

Lugard's eyes narrowed.
