Lisa's eyes turned red with rage. "Watch your words, Mera!" she snapped, slapping Mera's face. "Get a toothbrush and wash your mouth; it stinks! You can say what you want about me, but you have no right to mention my husband's name, let alone speak ill of him."
Mera clutched her cheek in pain, tears welling up. "How dare you slap me!" she screamed.
Didi stepped forward, her eyes blazing. "You deserve it, and even more slaps for crossing our bottom line. Don't be sad; I'll continue where Lisa left off."
Mera's bodyguards rushed forward, surrounding her. "Enough!" one guard commanded, shielding Mera.
Emma stood beside Lisa and Didi, her arms crossed. "You're not welcome here, Mera. Leave now."
Mera's eyes blazed with hatred, but she backed away, her guards forming a protective barrier.
"This isn't over," Mera spat, turning to flee.
Lisa's voice echoed after her. "You started this, Mera. We'll finish it."
The tension lingered, the air thick with unspoken threats.
"She's really lucky today," Didi said angrily.
Lisa smiled helplessly. "Leave my sister to live her life. She deserves a dangerous beating," Emma added.
"Let's go," Lisa said, picking up her shopping bags and walking towards her friends' car.
She looked at the parking lot and saw her car and driver still inside. She walked towards him, and the driver saw her coming with many shopping bags. He rushed down from the car and took the shopping bags from her, putting them in the back seat.
"I'm still going out with my friends. You can come along," Lisa said.
"Yes, Mrs. I will be going right behind you until you want to go home," the driver replied.
As the driver mentioned the estate, her mood became law, remembering Lugard - her cold, handsome man who was not at home. He was still on a business trip.
"Mrs., are you alright?" the driver asked, noticing Lisa's change of mood.
"Yes, I'm alright," she said, waving her hands and walking towards her friends.
Lisa's smile faded as she settled into the car beside her friends. The excitement of their shopping spree dissipated, replaced by a hollow feeling.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Emma noticed Lisa's sudden change in mood.
Lisa gazed out the window, her thoughts drifting to Lugard. "Just feeling down and lonely at home," she said softly.
Didi's eyes met Lisa's. "Lugard's still away, huh?"
Lisa nodded, her mind racing with thoughts of his business trip. Why did his absence affect her so deeply? She felt lost and vulnerable without him.
Emma reached out, placing a comforting hand on Lisa's arm. "He'll be back soon. You're not alone, Lisa."
Lisa forced a smile, grateful for her friends' support. "I know. Just feeling a bit down."
"Yeah, it means you're missing him so badly," Didi said, her voice filled with empathy.
Lisa furrowed her brow, pinching her cheek in a self-conscious gesture. "Missing Mr. Cold Face, huh?" she whispered, a hint of a panic on her lips.
"How and why?" Didi asked, leaning in, intrigued.
Lisa shrugged, her eyes drifting downward in confusion. "I don't know. It's like... a part of me is gone now he's not here."
Emma nodded understandingly. "You're deeply connected to him, Lisa."
