Author's POV:
Morning crept into the room, the soft hues of dawn spilling through half-drawn curtains. A faint breeze stirred the sheer fabric of the drapes, carrying with it the scent of fresh dew and earth.
Taehyung lay sprawled across the bed, his silver hair a glowing halo against the white satin pillow, glinting faintly in the light. His chest rose and fell in gentle rhythms, his lips slightly parted, exhaling soft, steady breaths. The curve of his cheek rested against his own arm, creating an adorable dip against it cause of its chubbiness. The delicate shadows of his lashes painted dark crescents on his smooth honey skin, making him look like an angel sculpted by the attempt of nature itself.
Jungkook sat on the edge of bed, feet on floor, one hand absently grazing over the bedspread. His brown eyes traced every line of Tae's face, taking in the ethereal sight to his heart's content. Though his heart is rarely ever content.
Taehyung was a waterfall of radiance; Jungkook, an endless thirst. No matter how much of that luminous stream of beauty he drank in with his yearning eyes, the ache for more always lingered.
Brunette's fingers hovered near Taehyung's temple, almost hesitant to ruin the peaceful picture, before finally the urge to feel his lover anyhow overcame...leading Koo to brush his fingers through the unruly strands.
Leaning closer, Jungkook pressed the softest of kisses to each of Taehyung's closed eyelids, contact lingering for few seconds longer as if to memorize the warmth of that skin under his lips.
"Wake up, my love," Jungkook murmured, cuddling his nose to Tae's cheek for a moment before pulling away, "don't wanna go to office today, hm?"
Taehyung stirred, his brows knitting faintly before his lashes fluttered open in reluctance. The world slowly came into focus through his drowsy gaze, and the first thing he saw was his baby's perfect face, bathed in the gentle morning light. The sight stilled him. He can't explain how much he loves it when Jungkook is the first ever thing he witnesses before starting his day. Nothing in the world matters when Jungkook is in front of him, looking at him like this.
Taehyung's head was never really silent, the mess of thoughts always so noisy. However it does go silent when Jungkook is near.. to the point that even just the thought of those big beautiful starry doe eyes is enough to calm him down, to make him feel safe.
But now what makes Tae restless is that redness, the swollen look in his favorite pair of eyes that is speaking of a sleepless night and surely some unspoken pain his husband was doing a poor attempt at hiding.
Slowly, Taehyung lifted his hand, resting it against Jungkook's cheek, letting his thumb glide under younger's right eye. "Did you get any sleep, precious?"
Jungkook dropped his eyes, trying to avoid Taehyung's attentive gaze as he stood up from the bed, "A l-little."
Tae frowned, blue eyes following Jungkook as the latter moved across the room, tidying things that didn't need tidying. Just so he could pretend to be busy. Brunette's hands betrayed him, fumbling clumsily with a book on the dresser.
Something was definitely wrong, and Silverhead wasn't about to let it slide. Rising from the bed, he crossed the room in a few quick strides and reached out, his fingers wrapping around Jungkook's wrist to stop him. "Koo," he began, but his words faltered as his other palm came to accidentally rest against Jungkook's chest.
The erratic thrum beneath his hand startled him. His brows furrowed as he pressed a little firmer for the confirmation of what he just felt. "Your heartbeat? It's... disturbingly fast. What's wrong?"
