Taylor

It was surreal, but it felt so right. As usual with Travis and I, things just happened to us. We had a son to take care of now. And his middle name was Taylor; it had never been any more of a sign.

We took Charlie home that night. He fell asleep on the way to the house and I tucked him into the spare room's bed before going to find my computer. I didn't know where Travis was since he'd vanished as soon as we'd in the door, but I was too caught up in my head to look for him.

I opened my computer at the table and started shopping for everything we could possibly need to take care of Charlie. I got him a kid sized bed, lots of clothes, shoes, a dresser, diapers, a car seat, and so much else. I didn't even look at the total; we had so much fucking money. I got him everything he could possibly need.

When I was finished, I closed my computer and got up, finally going in search of Travis. After a minute, I found him in his office, an empty glass and a sealed bottle of whiskey. He was just staring at them.

"Baby?" I asked tentatively, and his eyes lifted.

"Hi kitten." He sighed, sitting back as I tentatively crept across the room. I wasn't sure what was wrong, but he let me climb into his lap and bury my face in his neck.

"What's wrong?" I mumbled when Travis only placed a hand on my leg. He didn't wrap his arms around me like he usually did.

"It's just a lot kitten." Travis said quietly. "I love that little kid already and we're going to take care of him, but everything's just changed so fast. I thought we'd have more time with just us." Then he paused. "I wouldn't change a thing, I hope you know that."

"Hey." Taking his face in my hands, I lifted it so he had to look at me. "I love you, and I always will. This is a big change and its hard. I get that. I'm still a little stunned, but he needs us."

Travis nodded, sighing as he rested his forehead against mine. I knew this was a lot, but I needed to push through that to take care of Charlie. He was our son now.

"I love you so much little kitten." Travis touched the ring he'd given me. "Always."

"Always." I whispered back, stroking his jaw. "I love you forever Travis baby. We're going to get married, raise Charlie, and one day he'll have a sibling."

"God I love you." Travis said.

And kissed me again.
