Heeseung

Later that day, the group sat in anxious silence, the cold hard floor of the cell doing nothing to soothe the discomfort they felt. No one spoke, but the air was thick with anticipation, each of them lost in their thoughts. Heeseung's gaze remained locked on the door, jaw clenched, waiting for someone—anyone—to appear and give them some kind of explanation. His mind was only half-present, though. He couldn't stop thinking about Aiko. Where was she? What were they doing to her?

The silence was broken by the sound of footsteps. Multiple footsteps.

Two nurses, dressed in crisp white uniforms, approached the cells, accompanied by four guards in tactical gear, their expressions unreadable behind their helmets. The group immediately tensed, Sunghoon and Jake exchanging uneasy glances. Heeseung stood up, his hands balled into fists, ready for anything.

"Finally," Heeseung muttered under his breath.

One of the nurses, a woman with sharp features and a tight bun, unlocked the cell with a metallic click, her eyes scanning the group with an almost clinical detachment. "Follow us," she instructed, her voice calm but commanding.

The group hesitated for a second but knew they had little choice. One by one, they filed out of the cell, the guards watching their every move, weapons in hand but not raised. They were escorted down a narrow hallway, the sterile scent of disinfectant filling the air. Sunoo's nervousness was palpable, and even Ni-ki, who usually kept a brave face, looked uneasy.

As they turned a corner, they approached an elevator. The doors slid open smoothly, and the group was ushered inside. The guards stepped in behind them, and the doors closed with a soft hiss.

Heeseung stood at the front of the group, arms crossed, trying to keep his composure. He could feel the weight of everyone's anxiety pressing down on him, but his mind kept circling back to Aiko. Where was she? Was she okay?

The elevator ascended quietly, the numbers ticking upward on the display. The tension in the small space was suffocating. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the elevator dinged and the doors slid open, revealing a completely different environment from the dingy, claustrophobic cells they had been in earlier.

The transformation was staggering.

The floor they stepped out onto was pristine, glowing with soft, white lights embedded into the ceilings and walls. Modern fixtures and sleek designs greeted them—this was no ordinary building. It was high-tech, futuristic. Glass walls lined the corridors, revealing scientists and researchers moving about, most in white lab coats, absorbed in their work. There was an almost eerie calmness to the whole place, as if the horrors of the world outside didn't exist within these walls.

"Woah..." Ni-ki whispered under his breath, eyes wide as he took in the sight. It was a stark contrast to everything they had seen since the world had fallen apart.
