Aiko & Heeseung
Aiko shuffled into the small apartment she shared with Heeseung, her bag slung heavily over one shoulder. Her body felt like jelly after an endless day of lectures, group projects, and a mountain of reading she hadn't even scratched the surface of yet. She kicked her shoes off at the door, sighing deeply as she caught sight of Heeseung in his usual spot: seated in his gaming chair, headset snug over his ears, controller in hand.
The dim glow of the screen illuminated his focused face, his brows furrowed slightly as he concentrated on the game. His desk was a mess of empty water bottles and random snacks—Aiko noted with a fond smile that the bag of Skittles she'd bought a week ago was half-eaten on the edge of the desk.
"You're still at it?" she called softly, her voice tinged with affection as she dropped her bag on the couch.
Heeseung didn't hear her. His mic light was on, meaning he was deep in communication with his teammates. Aiko laughed under her breath as she walked up behind him, sliding her arms around his shoulders and resting her chin on top of his head.
"Hi, gamer boy," she whispered into his ear, soft enough not to disrupt his play.
He jumped a little, but his face quickly broke into a grin when he realized it was her. Heeseung reached up to gently squeeze her arm, still keeping his eyes on the screen. "You're home! Give me like... five more minutes. We're almost at the final boss."
"You said five minutes last time, didn't you?" she teased, nuzzling her face against his hair.
"Okay, okay, guilty as charged," Heeseung chuckled. "But this time I promise."
Aiko released him with a mock huff, pulling out a chair to sit beside him. She wasn't really annoyed—she loved how much Heeseung got into his games, how animated and passionate he became when explaining strategies or cool moments. She sat down and leaned her head on the backrest, watching him. He looked so cute like this, utterly engrossed, his mouth slightly parted in concentration.
"How was uni?" he asked, not taking his eyes off the screen as his character dodged a flaming sword attack.
"Draining," Aiko sighed. "I was thinking about just crashing when I got home, but..." She trailed off, glancing at him.
Heeseung took the bait without missing a beat. "But you couldn't resist my charms, huh?" he teased, flicking her a quick smirk before resuming his focus.
"Something like that," she replied with a laugh. "I just missed you, that's all."
The words made Heeseung falter for a second. His character narrowly avoided being killed, and his teammates groaned over the mic. "My bad, my bad!" he said into his mic, but his grin softened as he glanced at her. "Missed you too, baby. Give me two more minutes, okay?"
Aiko nodded, content to watch. She hugged her knees to her chest as Heeseung's fingers danced over his controller, his headset slightly askew as he leaned forward in his chair. She admired how he got so into it, how he bit his lip when a particularly difficult move came up, how his voice dropped into that deep, competitive tone when he gave instructions to his team.
