Aiko & Heeseung
Aiko's eyes fluttered open, the dim light overhead casting flickering shadows across her vision. She could hear a low hum, a muffled murmur of voices somewhere nearby. Her body felt heavy, her limbs sluggish as if weighed down by something unseen. Her head pounded, the dull ache radiating through her skull, and a wave of nausea hit her, forcing her to take a slow, shaky breath.
As her vision cleared, the voices became more distinct, cutting through the fog in her mind.
"How long have we been in here?" Sunghoon's voice was the first to reach her, sounding strained and frustrated.
"Not sure," Jay replied, a hint of bitterness in his tone. "Feels like hours."
"Fuck this," Jake muttered, his voice tired but sharp with irritation. "We should've seen this coming. We walked right into it."
Aiko's throat felt dry, her mouth like sandpaper, but she managed to croak out a sound. It wasn't much, but it was enough to draw attention.
"Aiko?"
Yuna's face appeared in front of her, a look of relief flooding her features. "Aiko, you're awake!" she whispered, moving closer to her. Yuna placed a hand gently on Aiko's shoulder. "Are you okay? How do you feel?"
Aiko blinked, trying to get her bearings. The room was cold, and as she slowly sat up, the nausea intensified. "I feel... I feel like shit," she muttered, rubbing her temples. "What happened?"
Yuna glanced over her shoulder at the others before turning back to Aiko. "We were knocked out. Whoever grabbed us... they drugged us. We've been locked up for a while now."
It was only then that Aiko took in her surroundings. The room was sterile, metallic walls reflecting the pale light. She realized with a start that they were in some kind of modified jail cell, the partitions high-tech and reinforced, making escape seem impossible. Across from where she sat, separated by a transparent partition, were the others—Jay, Sunghoon, Jungwon, Ni-ki, Sunoo, Jake, and Heeseung. Each of them was in a similar state, sitting or pacing within their confinement.
"Fuck..." Aiko whispered, her heart rate picking up. She ran a hand through her hair, trying to piece together the last thing she remembered. "Where are we?"
"No idea," Yuna said softly. "It looks like a lab or some kind of tech facility. But beyond that... we're all clueless."
Heeseung, who had been silent until now, turned sharply when he noticed Aiko fully awake. His eyes softened with concern, and he quickly moved closer to the partition separating them. "Aiko, are you okay?" His voice was laced with worry, and his gaze stayed locked on hers, searching for any signs of distress.
