Heeseung & Aiko
The plan had been going smoothly so far. Heeseung neared the unconscious neomorph, the tranquilizer dart still embedded in its side. Taking out the injection Yuna had given him, he knelt down and pierced the creature's tough skin, trying to find a vein to draw blood. His hands were steady, but the tension was palpable.
"Hurry the fuck up, Heeseung," Jake muttered, scanning the surroundings with his gun ready. "I don't like this one bit."
"Yeah, man, we don't have all day," Sunghoon added, his eyes darting around nervously. "This place gives me the creeps."
"Almost... got it," Heeseung said, finally hitting a vein. He began drawing the dark, viscous blood into the syringe.
But things took a turn for the worse. A sudden, chilling roar echoed through the area. Everyone turned to see five more neomorphs emerging from the shadows, drawn by the scent of their fallen comrade.
"Shit! We got company!" Sunoo shouted, raising his weapon.
"Fuck! We don't have enough darts for all of them!" Jungwon yelled, taking aim and firing at the advancing creatures.
"Everyone, get ready to fight!" Heeseung commanded, quickly finishing the blood draw and standing up. "Shoot to kill!"
Bullets flew as the group opened fire on the neomorphs. The creatures were hurt but not killed, their resilience evident as they shook off the bullets and continued their advance.
Aiko gripped her gun tightly, her heart pounding. She aimed at one of the neomorphs and pulled the trigger, her hands shaking. The bullet hit its mark, but the creature kept coming, unfazed.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck!" she muttered, trying to steady her aim. The neomorph lunged at her, its eyes filled with primal fury. She fired again, but it was too close.
Heeseung saw the danger and rushed over, shoving Aiko out of the way. The creature's claws raked across his arm, leaving deep gashes.
"Heeseung!" Aiko screamed, scrambling to her feet. "Oh god, I'm sorry!"
"Get the fuck back to the van!" Heeseung yelled, clutching his bleeding arm. "Now!"
Jake, seeing the chaos, shouted, "We need to move, now! Everyone, fall back!"
They began a desperate retreat to the van, firing at the neomorphs to keep them at bay. Sunoo and Sunghoon provided cover fire, their faces set in grim determination.
"Move your asses!" Jay shouted, pulling the van's side door open. "Get in, get in!"
Aiko stumbled into the van, her hands shaking as she tried to reload her gun. Heeseung was right behind her, wincing in pain but still focused on getting everyone to safety.
