Heeseung & Aiko
The dining hall had begun to quiet as everyone finished their meals and retreated to their respective rooms. Aiko sat at the table, absently tracing circles on the worn wood with her finger. Her gaze flicked to the door, expecting Heeseung to return from his supposed "bathroom break." Minutes passed, and her concern started to grow.
"Where's Heeseung?" she finally asked aloud, her voice soft but filled with worry.
Jay, who had just reentered the room, paused for a moment before responding, "Outside. Near his office, I think."
Aiko frowned, her worry intensifying. She stood quickly, muttering a quiet thanks as she left the room and made her way outside. The cool night air greeted her as she stepped out, and her eyes immediately landed on Heeseung. He was leaning against the wall, a faint glow from the cigarette in his hand illuminating his face.
Her frown deepened. Without hesitation, she walked up to him, her footsteps light but purposeful. Heeseung didn't notice her at first, lost in his thoughts, until she snatched the cigarette from his fingers.
He blinked in surprise, looking down at her. "Aiko—"
She cut him off, extinguishing the cigarette against the wall and tossing it to the ground. "You know these are bad for you," she said, her tone scolding but soft. "Don't you dare start making this a habit."
Heeseung let out a low chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck. "It's just one. Helps me think."
She shook her head, stepping closer until she was right beside him. Her small hand reached out, intertwining with his, her fingers squeezing gently. "You don't need that to think," she said firmly. "You've got me now, remember?"
Heeseung looked down at their joined hands, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "Yeah," he murmured. "I do."
Aiko leaned against him, her head resting against his upper arm. She wasn't tall enough to reach his shoulder, but Heeseung didn't hesitate to adjust, leaning slightly so that their heads could rest against each other.
For a while, they stood in comfortable silence, the soft hum of the night surrounding them. The stars above shimmered faintly, a rare moment of peace in their chaotic world.
After a moment, Heeseung's voice broke the quiet. "What do you wanna do after this is all over?"
Aiko tilted her head slightly, her gaze shifting to the stars. "I've thought about that," she admitted softly. "I think... I think we should go on a holiday. With everyone. Somewhere far away from all of this."
Heeseung hummed in agreement. "A holiday, huh? Where would you want to go?"
"London," Aiko said almost instantly, a small smile playing on her lips. "I could show you where I grew up. The parks, the museums, the little café I used to go to after school."
