Aiko & Heeseung

The room was dim, bathed in the soft glow of a small bedside lamp. It flickered faintly, casting golden shadows along the walls as Aiko leaned back against the headboard, her legs stretched across the bed. Heeseung hovered over her, shirt off, eyes locked on hers as he kissed her slow and deep, his hand caressing her cheek like she was something delicate—something rare.

She let her hands trail up his arms, feeling every line of him, every warm breath he gave her. His lips moved to her neck, pressing soft kisses beneath her jaw, and she closed her eyes, letting herself fall into him.

But then, just when the air started to shift, she gently pushed her palm to his chest. "Heeseung..." she murmured against his lips.

He pulled back just enough to look at her, brows lifted slightly, lips parted. "Hmm?"

She smiled softly, brushing her thumb across his bottom lip. "We should probably sleep."

He blinked, confused. "Sleep?"

She gave him a pointed look. "You know. Tomorrow... saving the world and all that."

He sighed dramatically and flopped beside her, flinging his arm over his eyes. "Ugh, right. Tomorrow. The world. So annoying."

She laughed, and he peeked at her from under his arm with a smirk. "Okay, okay. You're right." He kissed her shoulder. "Sleep. No distractions."

She kissed the top of his head and turned off the lamp. They snuggled into the blanket, his hand finding hers under the covers like it always did.

But a few minutes later, Aiko blinked into the dark and frowned slightly. She sat up a little, reaching toward the nightstand and patting around blindly.

Heeseung felt her move and groaned softly. "What are you doing?"

"My water bottle," she whispered. "It's not here. I think I left it in the lab."

He let out a sleepy sigh and sat up halfway, hair a mess, eyes barely open. "Do you want me to go get it?"

"No, no—it's fine. I can—"

"I got it," he mumbled, already throwing on a hoodie and sliding off the bed. "You stay here, sleepyhead."

She gave him a grateful smile. "Thanks, Seung."

He leaned down, kissed her forehead, and then whispered dramatically, "Don't fall asleep without me."

She laughed. "Wouldn't dream of it."

The door clicked shut behind him.

And just like that, the quiet returned.

Aiko sat in the dark, the soft sheets pulled up around her legs, and let her thoughts run wild.

She stared at the ceiling, fingers curling in the blanket.

It was strange—how the world outside could be so chaotic, so terrifying, and yet this room... this room with Heeseung felt like the safest place she'd ever known. Every kiss he gave her, every soft smile, every time he looked at her like she was the most precious thing in the world—she felt it all.
