Chapter 20

~ Y/n's point of view ~

I went into my room thinking about what Sana and Jihyo might be up to. Making jokes about it was fun, but realizing that this was probably coming true was a little less so.

I did my best when entering the room not to make any noise so as not to wake Jeongyeon. I lit the way to my bed with the very dim light from my phone screen, but stopped in my tracks because of the eerie feeling of someone watching me. I turned slowly towards Jeongyeon to discover her eyes open, looking at me intensely.

Y/n: "Oh, you're not asleep?"

Even after several seconds, I still hadn't had an answer, even though Jeongyeon wasn't taking her eyes off me.

Y/n: "Jeongyeon?"

And it was at that moment that I remembered a very important detail about Jeongyeon.

Y/n: "Do you have sleep paralysis?"

[For those who don't know, sleep paralysis is when you're conscious, but your brain isn't fully awake. When it's like that, you can't move at all, and you tend to see and hear terrifying things as if you were in a nightmare, which of course aren't real. The only two things you can do in this case are either try to go back to sleep, or wait for it to pass while trying to move very slowly]

I continued to look at her.

Y/n: "Damn, I'm stupid, you're not likely to answer me."

I suddenly saw her following something with her eyes around the room, looking terrified. But obviously, there was nothing there but me and her.

Y/n: "Hey, don't worry. There's nothing but me. You know this isn't real."

I went and lay against her in bed and hugged her.

Y/n: "Close your eyes Jeongyeon. It's okay, I'm here."

I gently stroked her back as I tried to reassure her as best I could.

Y/n: "Try to go back to sleep Jeongyeon, it's all right."

I continued to hold her close, as I began to realize that if I wanted to, I could take advantage of her condition to do whatever I wanted with her.

Very quickly, I mentally slapped myself for having such thoughts. Obviously, I wouldn't do anything without Jeongyeon's consent, and I would never take advantage of her condition to do anything.

After that, my thoughts quickly returned to normal. I was just thinking about Jeongyeon and how happy I was to have her in my arms. And without realizing it, I ended up falling asleep.

When the alarm went off and I woke up, Jeongyeon was snuggled up to me. How I wish I could have stayed like that with her a little longer. But we had things to do, so we soon got up. Gradually, the girls joined us for breakfast, including Sana who came to stand next to me.

Sana: "Will you be here today for practice?"

Y/n: "Not this morning, but I'll be there this afternoon."

Sana: "Why haven't you been with us for two days?"

Y/n: "That's a secret. But you should know soon."

She tried to coax me with her pretty innocent eyes.

Y/n: "That's not going to work with me. Here, wouldn't you rather tell me where Jihyo is instead? She usually arrives early."

Sana: "Are you sure you want to know?"

Y/n: "Well, yes. Why?"

She leaned in close to my ear and spoke in a low voice.

Sana: "It could be that she's trying to hide the nasty mark I left on her neck."
