Chapter 21

Once the girls arrived to eat, they naturally asked me questions about what had happened between Jeongyeon and me, so I had to tell them everything again.

Jihyo: "I think it's weird anyway, Jeongyeon is not the type to fight so simply, and certainly not the type to say hurtful things."

Nayeon: "Maybe it's my fault."

We all looked at her questioningly.

Nayeon: "I argued with her just before she went to see Y/n."

Jihyo: "About what?"

Nayeon: "I'll tell you about it later."

A heavy silence followed. Luckily for us, Sana quickly brought back a pleasant, friendly atmosphere, even if the empty seat Jeongyeon was supposed to be sitting at broke my heart.

After eating and clearing the table, I went to wash up. I stayed in the shower for a long time, letting the water run down my body. Anyway, all the girls were already washed, so no one would mind.

Once out of the bathroom, I headed for the living room. It was empty, dark and pouring with rain. At first glance, you wouldn't think it was summer. Suddenly, I heard a noise in the apartment entrance. I walked over silently and poked my head through the doorframe. Jeongyeon was standing there, completely soaked. She looked so beautiful like that, with the water running slowly down her face, and her wet hair plastered back. And as much as I enjoyed the view, I quickly left before she saw me.

I knew that if I went to my room right away, Jeongyeon would be here soon. So I went to Tzuyu and Nayeon's room, since I'd seen the light going under the door.

Nayeon: "So, how are you Y/n?"

Y/n: "Not very well, I must confess. I hate arguing with Jeongyeon."

Nayeon: "Honestly, I don't even remember you two ever yelling at each other like that."

Y/n: "Me neither, that's why it hurts so much."

I sighed.

Y/n: "What's the matter with her?"

Nayeon: "I had a fight with her so she was already upset before."

Y/n: "I know, but what did you say to her to make her like that?

Nayeon: "Why should I have said anything wrong? She's the one who refused to listen to what I had to say. I've been fighting for four years to make her see reason."

Tzuyu: "Don't you think it's best to explain to Y/n what happened?"

Nayeon: "What? No! Never. Jeongyeon would kill me for that."

Tzuyu: "If you've been fighting about this for four years, it might be time to put an end to it."

Nayeon: "If Jeongyeon listened to me, we wouldn't be in this situation."

She turned to me and looked at me.

Nayeon: "And if you made an effort to understand, we wouldn't be in this mess either."

Y/n: "Is it about her weight?"

Nayeon: "Are you both doing this on purpose?! I can't stand you two! I can't take it anymore!"

She left, slamming the door. And if I expected to hear Jeongyeon screaming from across the corridor, I didn't."

Y/n: "But what do they all have against me today?"

Tzuyu: "I'd love to tell you, but Jeongyeon made me promise not to tell you about their fight. And so did Nayeon."

Y/n: "But how am I supposed to guess if nobody gives me a clue?"
