Nari awoke to the sound of soft footsteps approaching her bed, and as her eyes fluttered open, the sight of Jungkook standing beside her brought a sleepy smile to her face. He wore that familiar, intense gaze, one that held her captive every time.
"Happy Birthday, my little flower," he said, his voice low and possessive as he held a velvet box in his hands. "I don't say this often, but today... today, you're truly the queen."
She sat up, feeling the warmth of his words, a flicker of surprise flashing in her eyes. "Thank you, Jungkook." She let a teasing smile play on her lips. "But if I can ask for one thing today...maybe a little freedom?"
His eyes darkened, the corner of his mouth lifting in a smirk. "Freedom?" He stepped closer, reaching out to tuck a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "Nari, freedom is an illusion for a queen. And you, my love, are more than that to me. The idea of letting you go..." He trailed off, his voice growing soft, yet there was a steel edge to it.
He leaned down, his lips brushing against her ear as he whispered, "But perhaps I can let you feel that freedom for a day, only because you look so beautiful asking for it. Just don't forget that you're still mine, every inch of you. Always."
Her heart raced as his words sank in, the intensity in his tone stirring something within her. He held out the velvet box, opening it to reveal a necklace-a delicate chain with a diamond pendant that glinted in the morning light.
Nari's breath hitched. "Jungkook, it's beautiful..."
"Beautiful?" he echoed, his gaze never leaving hers as he clasped it around her neck. "It's a reminder. You belong to me, Nari. Even if you think you can run, you'll always find yourself right back here." He paused, his fingers lingering on her shoulders, his eyes gleaming with dark satisfaction.
"And remember, my queen, everything you desire, I'll give. But freedom...that is something I'll keep."
The possessiveness in his tone was unmistakable, and yet, she found herself captivated by it. Her fingers grazed over the necklace, feeling the weight of his words as much as the jewelry itself. He gave her a small, knowing smile as he watched her take it in.
Later that evening, Jungkook arranged for a night out to celebrate. He led her to one of the city's exclusive clubs, where he'd reserved the entire VVIP lounge, ensuring they'd have absolute privacy. The lights were dimmed, casting a golden glow across the room as the music throbbed around them.
They danced, laughed, and shared stolen glances, the world shrinking to just the two of them. Nari's cheeks flushed as she sipped champagne, her guard softening as she allowed herself to fully enjoy the moment.
At one point, as they sat close, Jungkook brushed his hand over hers, his thumb tracing circles along her palm. "You know," he murmured, his voice low, "I love watching you like this. Carefree, but still so aware that you're mine." He leaned in closer, his lips grazing her ear. "It makes me want to remind you just how much."
Nari felt her heart skip a beat at his words, her cheeks warming. "Maybe you should-" she started, her tone teasing, though she cut herself off with a shy smile. But just as Jungkook was about to respond, his phone vibrated, drawing his attention away.
He frowned, glancing at the screen before reluctantly standing. "An important call. Wait here for me, and don't wander too far," he warned, brushing his thumb over her cheek before stepping out.
Nari watched him go, feeling a sudden emptiness in his absence. She stood up, deciding to stretch her legs a bit, and wandered out of the VVIP section into the main area of the club. The atmosphere was electrifying, with people lost in the music, the beat reverberating through the crowd. She let herself drift, taking in the unfamiliar faces and vibrant lights, until-
