The morning light poured through the half-drawn curtains, casting soft, golden streaks across the room. Nari stirred in the bed, her head heavy, her body still lulled by the remnants of the drug. She groaned softly, stretching lazily as the sound of footsteps reached her ears.

Taehyung stood by the window, already dressed in a sharp black suit, his hair slicked back, exuding an air of quiet authority. He glanced at her with a faint smirk as she rubbed her eyes, trying to shake off the weight of sleep.

"Good morning, wifey," he said, his voice smooth and teasing. He walked over to the bed, sitting on the edge, his movements deliberate and controlled.

Nari hummed in response, her voice a mix of sleepiness and mild annoyance. "Morning...why are you all dressed up so early?"

Instead of answering, Taehyung leaned in, cupping her face with one hand. His thumb grazed her cheek as he brought his lips to hers. The kiss was deep and lingering, almost possessive, as if he were claiming her in that moment. When he finally pulled away, his eyes held a flicker of something unspoken.

"That's why," he murmured cryptically, brushing a stray lock of hair from her face.

Nari frowned slightly but was too drowsy to press him further. She simply hummed again, leaning back against the pillows. "Mmm...you're weird."

Taehyung chuckled, standing up. "Weird? Maybe. Or maybe I just know how to appreciate you better than anyone else ever could."

He moved toward the kitchen, his movements calm but with a hidden urgency that she was too groggy to notice. A few minutes later, he returned with a tray. On it was a neatly arranged plate of toast, scrambled eggs, and a glass of orange juice. Beside it lay a single, small pill.

"Eat," he commanded softly, placing the tray on her lap.

Nari blinked up at him, confused. "What's this for?" She gestured to the pill.

"Your health," he replied nonchalantly. "Doctor's orders."

Though a flicker of doubt passed through her mind, the warmth in his voice and the care he seemed to put into her breakfast made her push it aside. She took the pill without question, washing it down with a sip of juice before nibbling on the toast.

Taehyung watched her silently, his arms crossed, his face unreadable. After a moment, he checked the time on his sleek black watch and straightened his jacket.

"Are you going somewhere?" Nari asked between bites, her curiosity mild, still dulled by the lingering effects of the drug.

He smirked again, leaning down to kiss her forehead. "Maybe. Just a little errand, wifey. Nothing you need to worry your pretty little head about."

His tone was light, playful even, but the way his eyes lingered on her, as if memorizing her face, carried an undercurrent of something darker.

"Be good while I'm gone, hm?" he said as he straightened up, grabbing his phone and keys from the nightstand.

Nari waved a hand lazily, already more focused on her food than his words. "Yeah, yeah, go do your mysterious stuff."

He chuckled, heading toward the door. Just before stepping out, he turned back, his smirk replaced with a fleeting expression of something deeper-regret? Resolve? It was hard to tell.

"Take care of yourself, Nari," he said, his voice unusually soft. And then he was gone, the door clicking shut behind him.
