Nari.

Was in taehyung's arms.

Nari's world spun as her eyes fluttered open, only to find herself cradled in Taehyung's arms. His warmth seeped into her, his fingers gently stroking through her hair, calming yet dangerously intimate. She blinked, disoriented, her breath shaky as she tried to make sense of where she was and how she got there.

"Shh," Taehyung murmured, his voice soft and smooth, like velvet wrapped around steel. "Don't move too much, princess. You might fall apart."

Her brows furrowed, confusion clouding her expression. "What...what happened?" she asked, her voice weak and slurred.

He gave a small, almost tender smile, his dark eyes holding hers. "You fainted," he said simply, as though it was the most natural thing in the world. "Guess the truth was a little too much for you."

"What truth?" she croaked, the words barely audible.

Taehyung's fingers paused in her hair, his touch lingering before he shifted slightly, leaning down so that his lips were close to her ear. "You really don't know, do you?" he whispered, his voice so low it was almost a caress. "About Jungkook. About your father."

Her body stiffened in his hold, a spark of fear igniting in her chest. "What are you talking about?"

He pulled back just enough to look into her eyes, his expression unreadable but his gaze piercing. "You know, Nari? Your father...the Mafia rival of Jungkook's family?" He tilted his head, as if trying to gauge her reaction. "Jungkook killed your father to get to you."

Her heart stopped. A sharp, icy chill ran down her spine, and she felt her stomach churn violently. "No...no, that's not true," she stammered, shaking her head weakly.

"Oh, it's true," Taehyung said, his tone almost gentle, yet the weight of his words pressed down on her like a crushing force. "Jungkook didn't just want you, Nari. He needed you. You were the perfect piece to bring everything full circle. His obsession with you isn't just love, you know-it's power. Control. A masterpiece of revenge."

Her vision blurred, and she let out a small, involuntary sound-a cross between a gasp and a whimper. Her hands gripped the fabric of his shirt, as if trying to anchor herself to something, anything, that felt real.

"But why?" she whispered, her voice cracking. "Why would he..."

Taehyung's lips curled into a smirk, his hand moving to cup her cheek, his thumb brushing against her skin in a way that was both soothing and suffocating. "Why?" he echoed, his tone dripping with mockery. "Because he could. Because he's always been like that-taking what he wants, no matter the cost. And you...you were the ultimate prize."

Nari let out a soft, broken noise, her head falling against his chest. The room felt like it was spinning, her thoughts a tangled mess of disbelief, anger, and a faint, gnawing sense of betrayal.

"But don't worry," Taehyung continued, his voice taking on a softer edge. "I'm here now. I'll protect you, Nari. From him. From everything."

His words were like poison wrapped in honey, sweet and tempting, yet laced with something dark and insidious.

"You don't have to be afraid anymore," he murmured, his lips brushing against her temple. "I'll keep you safe, as long as you stay by my side. But if you go back to him...well, let's just say you might not survive the truth."

Nari's breath hitched, her grip on him tightening as her mind raced. She felt lightheaded, as though the weight of his words was physically pulling her under. Her chest rose and fell rapidly, her body betraying her as a soft, almost inaudible whimper escaped her lips.
