Taehyung's POV
I leaned back in the leather chair of my office, the room dimly lit by the flicker of a single lamp. My fingers tapped lazily against the armrest, but my mind... my mind was back there, with her.
Damn.
She looked dangerous in those tight fits, her hair damp, her skin glowing, her fists flying. A fierce little thing pretending to be unbreakable. But I saw through it. I saw her.
And fuck, she didn't even realize how easily I could unravel her.
Biting my lip, I let out a dark chuckle. "Shiver for me again, sweetheart. I'll give you something real to tremble about."
Her image wouldn't leave my head-the way her body moved, the way her eyes flared with defiance, like she was daring someone to cross her.
Me? I'd cross that line in a heartbeat.
I tilted my head back, laughing low and devilishly. "So close..." My voice echoed through the empty room. "So fucking close to making you mine."
My lips curled into a smirk as I poured a drink, watching the amber liquid swirl in the glass. Jungkook's empire. His rules. His precious little flower. He really thought he could keep it all locked away, safe from the world-and from me.
Poor bastard.
"It's not yours anymore, Jeon," I muttered, my voice dripping with venom. I took a slow sip, savoring the taste, before setting the glass down with a deliberate clink. "Not your empire. Not your throne. Not even her."
I leaned forward, my elbows resting on my knees, my smirk widening. "You had it all, Jungkook. Past tense. Past fucking tense."
The memory of her flashed in my mind again-how she bit her lip when she was frustrated, how her voice wavered when she tried to sound tough, how her body stiffened when she caught me watching her. She shivered under my gaze.
"That's right, darling," I murmured, my voice low and dark. "You feel it, don't you? That pull? That fear? That craving? You'll fight it. Oh, you'll try. But soon enough..." I leaned back, running my tongue over my bottom lip. "You'll realize there's no escaping me."
I stood, adjusting the collar of my shirt as I walked to the window. The city lights glimmered below me, a kingdom waiting to be conquered. Jungkook's kingdom.
"Tick tock, Jeon," I whispered, my tone razor-sharp. "Every second that passes, I'm closer. Closer to taking it all."
My lips curled into a dangerous smile as I ran my thumb over my jaw. "And when I do, Jungkook, I won't just take what's yours. I'll make sure you fucking watch."
I let out another dark laugh, the sound bouncing off the walls like a predator's growl. The hunt was almost over, and victory was already tasting sweet.
"Enjoy your little games while you can, Jungkook," I said, my voice a deadly whisper. "Because when I'm done, you won't just lose her. You'll lose everything."
"Your wealth, your power, your precious little empire. You'll be left with nothing but the bitter realization of your own foolishness. So go ahead, play your games, and make the most of what time you have left. Once I'm done with you, you'll have nothing."
As the party buzzed around her, Min-ah decided that Namjoon needed to be rescued. Not from danger, but from boredom. She tilted her head at him, her ponytail swishing as she gave him a bright smile.
"You're like one of those statues in my grandma's garden," she teased, hands on her hips. "All serious and still. But even statues have flowers around them! You need some color in your life!"
