September went past like a storm, but October was going really slow. The days became shorter and the nights became longer. Winter was on its way. Everyone started wearing sweaters and hoodies.

Halfway through the month, revisions for our next test started, which was going to be in the end of this month. Everyone was really into studying these days, including me. I avoided transformations after the last time, when I injured Lisa.

SHE or Argy didn't seem to be bothering us either, but during the night times, we did have a lot of struggles, especially with Argy trying to take over Zayn's body again. I don't know how, even after I broke HER curse, SHE's not after any of us.

Lisa and I happened to find vervain in an old witch's house while guarding Zayn's house one night.

"Zayn, Zayn! Wake up." I said, sitting on the edge of an open window in his room.

"He's not waking up." I said to Lisa, who was standing down.

"Get in his room and wake him up." She yelled back.

"Shh! Keep your voice down." I said. I slowly crept into his room. The lights were off, but I could see clearly. Well, isn't that obvious?

"Zayn? Wake up! It's me Audrey. I've found vervain." I whispered.

"Huh?" He said, getting up slowly, rubbing his eyes. He turned on his bed lamp, and rubbed his eyes again.

"Holy shit. What...what's wrong with your teeth?" He asked, shocked.

"Oh...my fangs." I said, got up and ran towards the window, and fixed that problem.

"Me and Lisa were guarding your house since last night. On our way, we found traces of vervain in an old witch's house." I said.

"Go get it then." He said.

"I can't. Neither can Lisa. Only you can take it. Come with us right now." I said, pulling him off his bed.

"Wait wait...isn't SHE out there?" He said.

"No. We've been guarding since nine last night. It's two now." I said. "Come on let's go."

"Alright." He said, putting on his sweater and shoes.

                                                                                                           *

"I don't like this." Zayn said, while we were slowly creeping into the witch's house. It was dimly lit with two or three lamps here and there. There was an empty cauldron in the middle of the room, and old shabby parchments stuck onto the walls, almost on all walls, and a small room towards the right.

"Why do you think she kept it here?" Lisa asked.

"Maybe to make some potions." I said. "Zayn, you've got to go on your own from here. It's on the third shelf near some old books. It'll look like a small twig. Grab as many as you can and put in into your pocket."

"Alright." He said, and walked into a small room. We were directing him towards the shelf. He found it within seconds, but he kept staring at the wall near the shelf for a few seconds. After we signaled him, he tip toed slowly back to us.

"Don't show me." Lisa said, walking briskly out of the witch's house.

"What were you looking at?" I asked.

"That symbol." He said. "It was there on the wall, in blood I guess. I couldn't see properly since it was dark inside. What does it even mean?"

"I don't know." I said.
