Is it familiar? Narinig ko na ba ito noon? I'm not really sure.
"You can speak Spanish now?" Marco chuckled at me.
I'm starting to get interested too kung bakit bigla ko na lang nabasa ang Spanish words na iyon.
"Bro?"
"Hmm...?"
I asked in a soft tone.
I noticed his gaze shifting slowly toward me, binigyan niya ako ng Seryoso?-face.
"Bakit ako ang tinanong mo? Tanong mo sa mga babae. Lagi naman silang tama!"
I shut off the TV while Marco stared in disbelief. "Dude! What are you doing? Naglalaro pa ako!" I tossed out his console upang mainis pa siya lalo sa'kin.
"I need a serious answer, Marco!" I exclaimed. Napabuntong-hininga naman si Marco.
"Dude!
I was asking out of interest regarding those Spanish words. It was also translated as 'pag-asa ng bayan,' so perhaps it relates to something historical or maybe I'm just overanalyzing?
Damn this guy—
"SURPRISE!"
My ears were nearly shattered by the noise around me. Allen, one of my classmates, had a large speaker while the others were yelling.
"What are you all doing in my room?"
"Because it's your birthday! Kailangan nating mag-celebrate!"
They tightly twisted the bases of their party poppers, releasing a shower of confetti throughout my room, and they cranked up the music.
