Four Days Later...
Beomgyu's POV
I woke up, feeling something fluffy snuggling closer to my chest. The cold dirt ground beneath me felt strangely comforting, even though I was only covered by a thin blanket to keep it from clinging to my skin. Despite its chill, it made for a surprisingly good night's sleep.
For the past few days, we’ve stayed here to regain our strength and safety. Terry said Kai needed a good amount of time to heal before they could negotiate with the two older alphas of the pack. I didn’t know their names yet, but Terry reassured me that they were both understanding and kind.
I gently opened my eyes and noticed a small, blonde figure nestled in my embrace. I chuckled softly and yawned, shaking off the last remnants of sleep.
"Good morning, Kaiyah~" I murmured, gently stroking his soft pup head. "What are you doing down there, hmm...?"
The pup shifted, shaking his body and moving away slightly. Before I could process it, another blonde pup dashed towards me, launching himself onto my chest.
I gasped out. "Yah! Sunoo-ya, you're misbehaving again!" I scolded the playful pup sprawled on my stomach. But of course, he ignored me. Typical.
"Are you feeling okay, Kaiyah?" I asked, my gaze shifting to Kai. "Do your wounds still hurt?"
Kai moved closer, licking my cheek. I felt my face flush, smiling at his affectionate gesture.
Before I could say anything more, the blanket that served as our makeshift door rustled. Terry poked his head inside.
"You're awake. Good morning, Beomgyu." he greeted me in his usual deep, calm voice.
Terry had been working tirelessly for us lately. He only came back during the day to rest or at dusk to spend a little time with us. At night, he patrolled and guarded the area. I wanted to help, but he insisted I stay behind to care for Kai and Sunoo. I didn’t want to be a burden, so I reluctantly listened.
But despite everything, my thoughts kept drifting back to the night I realized my true odd feelings for him. What if I confessed? Would he accept me? Could we make this work, despite being from different worlds?
I found myself staring at him, lost in thought.
"Beomgyu?" Terry called out, snapping me back to reality.
His golden eyes had me captivated. Wow... those eyes could mesmerize anyone.
"Beomgyu. I need your help." he repeated, breaking through my daze.
I cleared my throat in flushed, shifting my attention back to the pups on my stomach as I slowly sat up. "Where to, Terry?" I asked softly, running a hand through my tousled long hair.
