The human softly fluttered his eyes open as the sunlight streamed through the window. He smiled and snuggled closer to the human-sized wolf curled beside him.
The werewolf had been in a deep slumber since the bloody night. For three days, Beomgyu had been anxiously waiting for him to wake up again.
That night still haunted him. He had been terrified and nearly lost himself to despair when the werewolf lost consciousness beside him. He thought Taehyun was going to leave him forever.
The mere idea was enough to shake him to his core.
Everything changed when another pack of wolves arrived the scene. The men including his cousin bowed deeply to them, and Beomgyu wondered who they were. That was when he met Taehyun's parents and his grandmother.
He was lil scared and grateful to Taehyun's grandmother, who tended to his injuries and explained that the latter's condition was a side effect of the antidote. She reassured him that Taehyun would regain his strength through a long sleep or a short coma.
After that, the Kang family took him in, letting him stay at the old lady's house. He was happy to meet them and touched by how warmly they treated him.
Beomgyu smiled subtly at the memory of that eventful night. He slowly sat up and caressed the wolf’s raven-black fur. He never imagined Taehyun could take the form of such a massive wolf—one that reminded him of Kai.
"Good morning, Grandma..." he softly greeted the elderly woman, who was heating water in the kitchen.
"Good morning, honey. How is your sleep?" Sora asked warmly, placing a kiss on his forehead.
Beomgyu blushed at her affection.
The werewolves' care and love for him were unlike anything he’d ever experienced. It made him wonder why fate had placed him in the human realm instead of among the werewolves. Still, he appreciated his existence because it had led him to the most special person in his life.
"Grandma, when will Terry wake up again...? It’s his fourth day." he sadly asked, pouting as he force a smile and fiddled his fingers.
Sora smiled gently and patted his head. "Don’t be sad. Terry will wake up soon—maybe even today. Let’s just give him enough time to recharge his strength back. I know he misses you a lot too!" she teased, giggling.
Beomgyu’s blush more deepened.
"G-Grandma... I... I’ll help you cut the vegetables!" he quickly changed the subject, causing the elder to laugh.
After spending some time in the kitchen, Sora left to attend to her business, accompanied by Taehyun's friends, Soobin and Yeonjun, who frequently visited.
However, Beomgyu couldn’t shake a strange feeling about the couple. There was something oddly familiar about them, as if he’d met them before. Yet, he couldn’t recall when or where. Perhaps they had appeared in his dreams? Or maybe they resembled someone from his past?
Beomgyu decided to ignore the strange feeling and focus on the present. He was content with what he had now.
Being with Taehyun forever and living in peace!
"Grandma?"
Suddenly, a familiar deep raspy voice echoed through the silent room. Beomgyu froze, unable to move. His heart beating wildly in his chest as the voice he had missed so much filled the air.
"Why... Why can I scent... Beomgyu?" Taehyun’s voice trailed off as their eyes met.
Beomgyu’s mouth fell open in shock as he stared at the tall, half-naked man standing before him. Taehyun’s muscles glistened faintly in the dim light, his disheveled hair making him look irresistibly hot and sexy! Beomgyu gulped, his knees buckling as he sank to the carpeted floor.
