The Same Night
"Jackie just go. You know you're gonna have fun. You were a big piece in winning that ring. It's only right if you celebrate it." I say.
"Fine. They want to get ready at Kelsey's house." She responded.
"Where does Kelsey live? I'll take you over there." I respond.
We walked over to my car as she gave me Kelsey's address. I opened the door for her, just being polite.
"So you really have a crush on me?" I asked.
"Please don't tease me about it." Jackie said, looking out the window.
"I'm not." I chuckle. "I just, I don't know. It's interesting that's all."
Kelsey's house was closer than I thought. In fact she lived like five minutes away from where we were. I stopped the car in front of the house, putting it in park.
We just sat there, sitting in silence. I thought she would've just said bye and got out but she didn't. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah." Jackie answered. "We cool right? Like our friendship isn't going to change?"
"Why would it? At the end of the day you're still going to be my Jack Jack." I reply.
"I hate that you call me that. But good, I'll text you later." She said, preparing to get out the car.
"Jackie." I say, making her look at me.
"What-" She started to say but couldn't finish because I kissed her.
It took her a second to process what was going on but she did end up kissing me back. Once we pulled apart, it was nothing but silence. She looked like she wanted to say something but instead, she just got out the car.
