A'ja's P.O.VIt's been about a month and a half since I last spoke to Y/N. The peace has been good for my mental and recovery. There are times when I do miss her but I can't go back. I refuse.
Today has been one of those days where everything has felt so good. Woke up on the right side of the bed type shit. It's been like the first day since shit went wrong that I've felt like myself.
I did my usual, or what used to be the usual, morning routine of working out. Getting shots in, just working on my craft. After finishing that, I took a shower.
By the time I was dressed, it was around two in the afternoon. Chelsea had asked in the team group chat for everyone to hang out. Jackie and Kelsey being the only two to turn it down. Which is kinda odd but whatever.
This would be my first time hanging out since the night of the club. My first time doing anything if I'm being honest. I know I still have a way to go to be officially over it.
But it's better to embrace it. Acting like nothing happened doesn't work. My mindset now is different. Like yes it did happen but where do I go from here?
Leaving my house, I drove to Chelsea's. When I got there, a few people were already there.
"A'jaaaaaaaaaa." Syd said, dragging out my name, being extra.
"Sydneyyyyyyyy." I reply with the same energy.
"Girl where have you been? You done went ghost on us." Alysha asked.
As much as I love them I wasn't gonna tell them about that night. At least not yet. Today is a good day for me and I don't want to ruin it. But I will tell them eventually.
"I've just been keeping to myself. I needed a little bit of me time." I reply.
"Is it because of the break up with Y/N? I'd be hurt too if I lost somebody that fine." Syd said.
"Anyway." Chelsea said, switching the topic. "Whatever happened isn't important. We're not here for that. We here to turn up."
I silently thanked Chelsea for getting the heat off me. It doesn't matter how fine Y/N is, she deserved to be broken up with.
I had a great time with my girls. We took shoots. Played Uno, which Syd cheated. I don't care what she say, she was hiding cards. I went on Instagram, posting on my story.
That's my first post since posting about winning the championship. Not that me taking a break from social media is unusual. It just shows that I'm getting more comfortable again.
