"We need to talk anyway. Come on." A'ja said, walking away.
I followed her away from the crowded and noisy party. Before we got a chance to say anything, Jackie came up to us. Looking visibly upset. I know exactly why too.
"We gon talk. But I think I'ma let y'all talk first." A'ja said, low key laughing while giving us a moment.
It's not even funny but it's like it is. Either way I do feel bad. I really did just embarrass the fuck out of Jackie.
"Why in the hell would you get on that stage and say that?" Jackie asked.
"It's just a song Jackie." I reply.
"That you wrote sometime during our relationship. That's foul." She responded.
I looked away from her. "Why do you even care? You broke up with me anyway."
"Because I had to." Jackie sighed, somehow getting more upset.
"Jacquelyn, you are grown. You don't have to do shit unless you really want to do it. So why'd you really break up with me?" I say.
"I couldn't take A'ja and I not speaking. I miss her and the bond we had. But you also missed her and I seen that. Y/N, you were never gonna love me like you love her. If you even had love for me at all." She answered.
"You didn't know that Jackie." I somewhat snapped. "I'll be honest, I wasn't over my relationship with A'ja. But that doesn't anything. I still liked you."
"Key words are important here." She said, making me look confused. "You liked me but you were never gonna love me. My point has been proven."
"Jackie stop. You know damn well that I have love for you. Don't stand here and do this shit right now." I reply.
"Have love for me and loving me is not the same." She said.
"I love you Jackie. Is that what you wanna hear?" I ask.
"I would if it was genuine." Jackie answered.
She's blowing my high so bad right now. I don't know what she expects from me. She broke up with me. Despite missing A'ja, if she felt this way she should've never cut them ties with me.
"Don't piss me off Jacquelyn." I say, clenching my jaw. "Now I'm gonna say it one more time. I love you Jackie."
