RESCUE - Part 2

Chapter 3 - It's Your Birthday?

You know when you wake up, and you just feel so....stressed...I'd woken up to arguing and loud bangs from downstairs, I grabbed my dressing gown pulled it around me and walked downstairs, "ITS NOT MY PROBLEM YOU'RE SO DAMN BLIND, AND YOU'RE NOT SINGING IN MY BAND!" "I DONT WANNA SING IN YOUR STUPID BAND ANYWAY!" "FINE!" "FINE!" Alex stormed out the house and summer continued to slam about, I looked around, no birthday cards, no presents...Summer was continuing to slam about as she cleaned the sides "what's up with you?" "Nothing!" She snapped at me "HEY! Don't talk to me like that" "I'm so sick of not having a boyfriend, I'm in my 20s! For god sake its ridiculous!" Mouse cam down yawning holding his back "my back is killing me!" "I know nothing about it" I looked at him as summer continued to slam about.

Mouse came to me and kissed my cheek "morning chick, what's wrong with that one?" "What's wrong with that one!?! Try the fact I can't get a boyfriend!" "WELL if you weren't so god damned blind you'd actually see someone loves you!" She rolled her eyes at me "listen young lady" I grabbed her and spun her around "You both started as friends, you don't notice how he turns on his charm, or why you never wonder why he's always there, for god sake he's done everything but say it!" "Mum shut up about Thomas no he doesn't-" He has crushed on you for so long! And okay he's not great with words, he's heard you talk about how you want someone just like him, and every time he asks you out you say as friends, and it kills him!" She looked at me "you're so blind! You don't notice how he stares at you when you're alone, or you never wonder why he keeps you on the phone? For God sake summer what does he have to do to get you to notice him?!?!" She looked at me when a shape shooting pain ran through my head, enough to make me bend over double "hospital now!" Mouse grabbed me "no!" I pushed him off, "it's just a migraine!...come on we need to get dressed we are going to be late" "oh it's your supernatural reunion" I stood up and held my head "yeah, I'm gonna go get dressed..." I walked up stairs and closed the bedroom door.

I walked downstairs wearing a knee length pale pink skirt and a white shirt tucked in open down to the chest with a pair of high cork wedges, my hair was straight, my makeup, slightly different but nothing to notice much, "wow you look nice!" Mouse kissed my cheek "special occasion? Except the reunion?" I looked at mouse, and looked at my three kids, "Has anyone got a clue what day it is today?" "Saturday" Alex looked at me "Saturday....right...come on then, let's go can't keep people waiting, well you don't have to come if you don't want to, I'll go by myself" "no, we can come, wouldn't miss it for the world" "you're just coming for Misha" I looked at summer "come on! It's uncle Misha!" She looked at me "just get in the car!" I grabbed my keys and got in, I drove to the big hall, hundreds of fans stood outside cheering as I got out the already car "CHARLIE!!!!!!" They screamed "Jesus do you ever get used it this?" I looked at Alex "dude you're in band, girls scream your name are you used it it?" "No?" "Right...come on!" I pushed them all inside and looked at the three men stood there, Jensen, Jared and Misha..."Charlie hey you" they came towards me and hugged tightly "these are for you" Jensen came over with the biggest bunch of flowers I'd ever seen "and this is the card! Happy birhtday" Misha and Jared pulled me into a hug "it's your birthday?" I spun around to face my family "I thought it was next week?" "Erm no.....today....it's not like it's a big one-" "it's your fortieth" Jensen looked at me "Don't say the f word!" "So...you forgot your moms birthday?" Misha walked over arms folded "hey it doesn't matter, the flowers are lovely...come on we need to go out on stage, there are seats for the four of you on the front row" I kissed them all and watched them walk out the door before heavy sighing, "hey! Cheer up, we remembered" "yeah thanks..." I smiled sadly as we made our way to the main stage.

As we were asked questions, and revealed we were doing more seasons one by one, members of the audience began to lift up lights, it looked like mobile phones torches, suddenly the lights began to dim down until the room was pitch black, a spotlight appeared showing the kids and mouse stood at the microphone, "hey mum" summer smiled at me, their faces appeared behind on the big screen, "as fans of the show, but also as your children we know a lot about your campaign never give up, and how it has helped thousands of people. And we wanted to say thankyou, everybody was given a candle, that burns just for them, when your flame flickers and you fear it will go up, know that not even the strongest wind lasts forever, and there are other lights to guide you even through the darkness, and when your candle burns bright, you can ignite he hearts of others and hope will spread like wildfire...Never give up...always keep fighting, and you'll never fight alone...." I stood up and began to clap, the others followed my lead, "and....we didn't forget your birthday....okay guys one, two, three" slowly bu r surely the whole audience began to sing happy birthday...it was amazing...I sat back down and held the microphone "thank you, doesn't cover this enough...the campaign, it's there because it's stuff that I have dealt with, and I'm still dealing with so it means so much to me and I hope that the fans and my friends feel the support from me the way I feel support from them, I love you all very much and especially my three kids and husband who have been there so much for me, so, never give up, fight for each other and love each other" I wiped away a tear "I'm so humbled! With the near give up campaign, it feels a lot like it's grown into something bigger than I ever could have imagined, and it's the same with the show, and my character and these guys I've been working with for nearly 11 years now and it's so cool and so humbling, these guys are uncles to my kids they're like brothers, this is what I dreamed of as a kid and I'm so so humbled...thankyou" we all stood up as I made my way down to the stage and hugged my kids and mouse so tightly.

We made our way back to the car, "I'll drive!" Mouse stole my keys and jumped in the driver seat, "put this on" he handed me a silky blindfold "I'm not doing 50 shades of ew...okay not my thing" "Jesus mum ew!" Flynn hid in his hands "just tie it....the handcuffs are for later" he whispered in my ear as I blushed madly.

The car stopped, I was taken carefully from the car and lead into a building, my blindfold was removed and revealed, it must've been a hundred, family and friends including Jensen Misha and Jared and Carrie who stood smiling widely at everyone, and Thomas stood tall next to his dad, I made my way through the crowd and walked to the bar "oh my god" I suddenly gasped as mouse came next to me "you remember it?" He stroked my back "yeah...when I was a teen, with my...with my dad go my god look!" I pointed to a photo behind the barman on a shelf of me and dad singing together onstage, I had a guitar "happy birthday chick, you've got your presents at home, as IF we'd forget your fortieth" "DONT SAY THE F WORD!" "I'm sorry...your twenty first..." "That's more like it!" I downed. A beer and ordered another as the party got into full swing.

As it went on Alex jumped up on stage "hey everyone, I'd like you all to welcome a special guest on stage, she hasn't sang for a while, but I think it's time she does and she's had enough to drink....so mum....please sing with me and my band?" I looked at him and the crowd who were now staring at me "oh what the hell go on then!" I was helped up to the stage and stood in front of the microphone "Jesus, there's a lot of you in here" I swallowed nervously as someone placed a red guitar over my head "is this the-" "yep we found it" Alex grinned at me as he nodded at his band, I began to strum on the guitar "you got the bullets, I got the gun, I got I hankering for getting in to something, I hit the bottle, you hit the gas, I hear your 65 can really haul some ass" Alex then began to join in on the Chorus, as the song finished I noticed Thomas giving summer a drink, and smiling at her, "okay for this next one....we are going to slow it down a little..." I whispered in Alex's ear, he nodded knowingly and began to strum on the guitar, "they started as friends, but something happened Inside him, now he's reading into everything, there's no sign she heard the lightning, he's made it obvious...he's done everything but sing it, he's not that good with words, but since you never noticed the way that you belong, so WE'LL sing it in a love song..." As the song came to an end, we watched as Thomas slowly moved in and gently kissed summer on the lips, placing his hand on her cheek gently as she stood on her tiptoes to reach him, I looked at Alex who held up his hand to high five, which I gladly met.
