-Mouse POV-"WHOA DAD!!" Alex looked at me as I stood there holding his plug to his power, "dad plug us back in, we are rehearsing!" "I need your help!" "...with what?" He looked at his band "please take your mother out somewhere" "what? I can't, she's my mum, I don't know what to do!! I never say the right thing!" "Think of something! I swear if I have to see her cry through Magic Mike one more time....I'm going to kill her" "she cries at Magic Mike?" "Don't ask! Just help!" I plugged the wire back in and walked out to go to work.
-my POV-
Some one knocked on the door, I wasn't entertaining anyone, I couldn't be arsed, "let me in" "nope" I folded my arms as alex barged in "oh my god what is that smell" "it's me, what do you want?" "For you to take a shower! Jeez Louise!" He recoiled in horror "I want you to take a shower, get dressed, do your hair, and come and play with my band" "I'm not feeling it Alex, thanks but I'd sound terrible" he looked at me disheartened "how about...ill come be a groupie, I can't actually feel cheerful, I'll probably just stand there and fake smile" "wow, well thanks for the honesty, but no, you're playing guitar and possibly singing, but not until you get your ass in the shower" "fine." "Good!" I sighed and got in the shower.
I stood there, in front of Alex, and his band mates, stood there in a pair of ripped skinny black jeans, and a red plaid shirt with a white shirt underneath, and a new pair of lack combat heeled boots, my hair curly from the shower "right, here's the guitar!" Alex handed me an red electric, "Alex...I-" "what song we playing Mrs Jenkinson?" Adam smiled at me kindly "I....I d-" "come on Mrs Jenkinson, here's a beer, down that, we have plenty more, what song you feeling? we can play pretty much anything!" "Alex why are you doing this?" "To cheer you up mother now choose a song!" "You er...you heard of green day?" "Play the song mother, we'll join in!" I sighed heavily as I looked at the guitar and strummed down, the loud noise echoed around the room "my god I'm so sorry!" I looked around the room, the lads smiling at me as they covered their ears, "I don't remember how to play this shit" I sighed again as I began to play, suddenly the lads joined in on drums and base, "don't wanna be an American idiot" I sang quietly "liven up mother!" Don't want a nation run under the new media" I began to strum, I felt myself smiling, colour coming back into my cheeks, as Alex sang the chorus with me "Welcome to a new kind of tension, All across the alienation, Where everything isn't meant to be okay, Television dreams of tomorrow, We're not the ones who're meant to follow, For that's enough to argue" I swung my head to the beat, moving around the garage playing with Alex "you gonna do the solo?" "Why not!" I strummed on the guitar, rocking out with them, it felt awesome, as we came to an end, I was breathless Alex smiled at the wall "and that was green day cover by Charlie Jenkinson, best mom in the world!" "What are you doing?" "Didn't I tell you that we were live streaming this to our fans?" "No it must've slipped your mind" I glared at him "hey people....thanks for supporting my son!" "MOM stop being embarrassing!" "I'm saying hello to your fans hiiiii!" Suddenly comments came in "Alex I broke it" "will you stop being a forty year old and get with the times read them you nutter" floods of comments coming in saying to sing another song, it was incredible.
Several songs later my phone began to ring p, moving the hair from my sweaty face I answered it "hey mom....how you feeling?" "How could you Charlie..." The lads looked at me as I suddenly cleared my throat "what have I done?" Alex came over to me as my eyes filled with tears "I'm the Ill one, I'm the one who had a stroke, I should be the one to be in the attention, yet hear you are, broadcasting yourself online, singing those repulsive songs, but that's you all over, constantly wanting to be centre of attention" "mom that wasn't my in-" "I just don't think I can talk to you at the minute, goodbye!" "Mom....I.." I took the phone from my ear and took a breath fighting the tears "thank you Alex, guys, I've enjoyed it!" I smiled at them as a tear rolled over my cheek "here's your guitar" I handed it him and pushed open the door, Alex chased after me "whoa wait! Ignore her!" "I can't Alex...I just, go play with your band I'm fine" I smiled before walking into the house and back up to my bedroom.
I was woken up by mouse talking to alex downstairs, I got out of bed, walked to the bottom step and sat down listening, "I don't know what she said, dad she was having an awesome time, she gets a call from gran and she just, her mood just changed, i..she started to cry, I didn't know what to do" "I'll Kill her, how dare she say Charlie is like that, the woman who has made a campaign for a charity that helps people fighting depression, unlike her mother that had done fuck all!" "Dad calm down!" "No! I've had it up to here! How dare she say that about her!" "Becuase she's my mother and she thinks she can" I walked in "Charlie..." "I've heard and I agree, but, I can't change what she's like, she's just...her" "we're going out, tonight, I'm cheering you up" "it's fine, I'm fine, I'm just going to bed" "no! Let's go" he dragged my hand and took me to his car.
So I sat in the bar, with Alex sat with a pint, I had a pint, Flynn had a pint, I just, sat there, facing the bar, watching the barman, working away, when someone tapped my shoulder, mouse stood there, holding a microphone "excuse me miss" I looked at him, the bar had gone quiet "you never close your eyes anymore when I kiss your lips" "Michael...." "And there's no tenderness like before in your fingertips" "oh my god" "You're trying hard not to show it" he grinned at me "But baby, baby I know it" everyone crowded around, and began to sing along with him "You lost that lovin' feelin' Whoa, that lovin' feelin' You lost that lovin' feelin' Now it's gone, gone, gone, woh" "I love that song" "add that to your film list" he grinned "you've never even seen top gun" "I've seen that scene" "you're insane" "insane enough to want to see you smile...the need to see your smile" he hugged me tightly "ignore the mother, she's going through a stage" "I need to get her away from Timothy, he's bad news and I need your help" "I'll do anything" "I'm going to need help, everyone's help" "we're here for you mom," Flynn hugged me as Alex hugged from the other side, "we'll get this bastard, we'll sort your mom out, we'll get her back" mouse smiled at me with a huge grin.
